    ... obviously very proud of their culture. It is the oldest Chinatown in Canada. The Chinese came over to Canada and Alaska during the gold rush. We then returned via Government St which also looked lovely with some older style buildings and still with the hanging flower baskets from the lights. We stopped at the 7/11 to buy another day's bus pass as well as a slurpee. On the way back to the hotel we walked past the guy who had carved the soapstone whale when Greg was here last time. ...

    ... hands as it was emotional seeing mum so happy. Speech time came around I said my speech then Sam said hers and sang her song it was amazing and not a dry eye in the place. Had a few drinks and lots of laughs and we where then off to mechosen cafe where we all had a dinner and celebrate the new life of the Fantettis. All exhusted from such a big day we all pretty much hit the hay pretty early that night. But now mum was a married lady! It was so special! ...

    We arrived in Victoria, BC Provincial capitol, in the predawn hours. As the sun came up, the Silver Cloud docked at the adjacent berth. I waved at its passengers lining the

    The final comment was about the dogs. Amundsen donated a number of his remaining dogs to another Antarctic expedition which was going from Australia. A number of the British dogs were adopted in New Zealand, including one by the Mayor of Christchurch.
