A Very Busy Two Weeks: Remember a few months back when Kathryn had to go back to the States to teach? Well, on the morning of March 25th I started the journey boarding a flight from Penang to Bangkok where I had just enough time to do a little shopping and eat a meal. It's quite the big city just like any other. I could have been in LA already... Then I switched airlines for my flight from Bangkok to Taipei where I didn't have time to visit the city much less leave the airport. One thing I no...

picked up another instructor and she was really nice. She has a
daughter the same age as me living in France (what a life) and a son
who is in his second last year of school. She was Irish/packistani
and had extremely good english. Along the way they told us a story of
a guy who went to the waterfalls yesterday (same as us) and got stung
by a scorpion and his foot swelled up ...
... up to be told that Michael had been thirsty & had to get water so he walked to the shop but nowhere was open so he just kept walking & found Adrian a sleep in a field!! He couldn't find the way back so he gave up, I wouldn't mind but it was one straight road back, so good job he went looking for water!!

... lobby, so off with the room umbrella to meet them. We decided that due to the weather we should just eat at the resort. A wonderful restaurant and Malaysian food, but the sun and beer for two days caught up with me and I had no appetite whatsoever. After about three bites of my food, I was done. I got my check and left them for dessert and after all they are on their honeymoon. I was back in the room by 8:15 and slept until 7:30, a much needed ...
Langkawi, Kedah, Malaysia nedk... They hardly ever see Americans this way. We have met some really interesting people. A gentleman (also a Chef) from Switzerland, Jonas, he is an interesting cat... very analytical and a passion for exploring life; and a young couple in their 20s from Sweden, Andrea and Lina, who have also been here for quite some time enjoying their travels. We all decided to go on a snorkeling trip together. It was a blast! The long-tail boat picked ...
Koh Lipe, Thailand seekingcindy... than Penang as it was a lot more touristy- but it seemed to be quite a bit cheaper. In the morning we got up early and ran into the sea. What it would be like to wake up every morning and do that- bliss! We then had breakfast on our porch then walked to Underwater World. A huge aquarium, where they also had penguins. Their enclosure was quite good- as far as enclosures go. We watched them dive bombing in the water for ages. They were really funny! There were lots of fish and ...
Langkawi, Kedah, Malaysia aliandvickyWe get up early to head out for the speed boat to takes us to Koh Lipe. The after waiting around for the immigration officer to sort out our visas and passports, the boat is ready and it is a bumpy, 1hr journey to Lipe where we get off, onto a long-tail boat to the shore. We are then asked to pay another 50Bhat for the "taxi". Memories of being ripped off in Thailand come ...
Langkawi, Pinang, Malaysia andrew.chudiak...No not the dodgy pub in Queen's Square, Bristol, but a lovely restaurant in Langkawi... We read in the local paper about a small restaurant attached to a fish farm, which also did bed and breakfast. We thought it sounded interesting so decided to go there once we got to Lankawi. The taxi drivers who met us at the ferry port were not so sure. We got many puzzled looks, and nearly started an argument between two of them when we asked to be ...

Back on the main island of Langkawi I was due to meet up with the gang again from last night, only this time we gained an extra sweedish and english girl - so we managed to keep the maximum level of representatives from every country at 1. This time it was a few drinks on the beach in amongst the festival they were having. They had a big stage set up on the beach with singers and entertainers on the stage. The music was nothing that anyone I know would be ...
Langkawi, Kedah, Malaysia phillthomas... The towers were built by in the 1998, with a 2000 a day crew of workers , working 12 hour a day shifts. The Architect was American, and designed with respect to the Islamic Culture. They were a modern masterpiece in a city with still so much history of old buildings and temples and mosques. So Back to the airport, we flew on Air Asia,,,a discount airline , sort of the southwest airlines of Asia. We paid $40 for our round trip ticket. We had to scramble for our place in line ( it was ...
