Never changed the alarm clock and woke up early for a breakfast. Then Coach Crawl to go through all the different units. We had a group shot photo. Then for a Soup Supper catered. Very hood homemade soup and desserts. Hung around for a little karaoke. Ate dinner with Jim and Nadine, Lester and Margaret. Pooped ...
... to dinner, Mary and I did a little touring of Venice, a city with a history dating back to the late 1800's, the downtown area is well planned and neat with the main street full of interesting shops and a lot of foot traffic. We took a short, cool windy walk on the beach. A surprising number of faithful beachgoers were bundled up and sitting on the beach. Where is the Florida weather?
... pub, traditional Irish restaurant, and plans to further expand the brewery in the near future. We sidled up to the bar and ordered a couple of beers, already knowing we would be splitting one of their famous burgers. There were probably 20 different topping combinations to choose from, so we went with the “Big Daddy,” which had sharp cheddar, bacon, and jalapenos. They also offer an $0.18 bean soup, which has been the same price since ...
... home before Wednesday anyway, it was time to see what trouble I could get into for that extra day.
The deal was, I would have no more than one day (if that) to visit wherever I flew into, so transportation and worthwhile things to visit would be key (I wanted to avoid "I flew into Boise, ID and all I got was bored" T-shirt experiences). A quick look at cities on the west coast narrowed my options to four places that I ...
... have the Gulf of Mexico to the south, and Choctawhatchee Bay to the north. Sometimes we have hurricanes. They are very strong storms that come in from the Gulf with lots of wind and rain. When we find out that a hurricane is coming, we nail boards over our windows to protect our houses and we usually leave town. Fortunately, it has been a long time since we've had a ...

Historical Traveler Reviews Holiday Surf & Racquet Club Destin
I can not express how happy we have been with Holiday Surf. Our family have been staying there for the past 5 years. We are still in tears at the damage that Ivan caused, and that our reservations have been cancelled. We will be back next year! Just the place to take your family, and the beach is right there. The staff is great. I do highly recommend Holiday Surf for your next visit to Destin.
Nice place to stay
Very impressed with the location of this condo. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Although the pool was small in size it was very well maintained. Free use of the Bar-BQ pits was nice while you have idle chat with other guess. Noticed most guess have been coming to Holiday Surf for many years. The Holiday Surf is a nice place for a family vacation and well recommended. Our family looks forward to future vacations at The Holiday Surf in the years to come.
Best place in Destin! Our family has been staying at Holiday Surf and Racquet Club since 1986! It is located in the older developed areas.
I always stay at Holiday Surf and Racquet
My family and I have been traveling to Destin EVERY Labor Day weekend for the past 8 years. We have never stayed anywhere but the Holiday Surf and Racquet Club. The staff is wonderful and the rooms are always nice. I dont think I would ever stay anywhere else!
Nice, laid-back older condo development
The Holiday Surf and Racquet Club is an older condo development in the Holiday Isle section of Destin. It has been certainly been kept up to date. The pool area was really nice... the beach was beautiful with the umbrella and chairs furnished...our one-bedroom condo was pretty and nicely furnished...all condos face the ocean....extremely affordably priced. Since most condos are individually owned, it is a good idea to discuss with the management what your expectations and needs are for the condo when you make your reservations. It is our experience that condos in the same complex can vary greatly. Ours was a non-smoking one. I asked for one that had been refurbished during the last couple of years.
An Emerald Coast Jewel
This was our first time staying in Destin. We have traveled to various Florida destinations over the past years, and decided to stay in Destin this year. Like many people these days, we relied on the internet for lodging help. Their website is wonderful. As you will find the facility is super clean and the staff is very friendly. We did not have any complaints to share. The condo is located ocean-front but off of the main strip, which is very desirable due to heavy traffic. We would recommend Holiday Surf & Racquet Club to any family wanting a clean, affordable, and friendly place to stay.
The best things about Holiday Surf and Racquet club are these:
Very nice Staff
THe People that work for Holiday Surf & Racquet Club are very pleasant and helpful. I would recommend the place to all my friends.
Great resort! The area is stunning and the employees at the resort are the best. Thanks Holiday Surf- I'll be back again!
This was a trip that will not be forgotten. The experiance was that of a tropical vacation that went by to quickly. The view was amazing, the service, facilities, food were all exceptional and top notch. The beaches are clean, soft sand and the water is unbelievable and emerald green/blue, and its all a few foot steps from your room! Fishing is out of this world! the largest charter fishing fleet is located here in Destin, and the surf and peer fishing offers great oportunities as well. The Big game fishing is not far off shore either, as the gulf here is blessed with deep water not to far out and deep caynon's where sordfish, and marlins roam. There is other things to do too. The shoping is a never ending event in itself if you wish, with huge outlet malls galor! tourist attractions, Gulfarium animal/marine show, a zoo withing a short driving distance, amusment/water parks etc..This is a tourist paradise and the Holiday Inn Surf made it that much better...the location can not get any better and again: the people, staff, facility, food, on-site activites, informative and easy to navigate website and of coarse the view is absolutely top notch....does not get any better.
