... neat.. we stayed at about 60 feet for almost an hour and swam through several caverns. The Visibility was pretty nice, maybe 60-70 feet and we saw several anemones and a real neat lionfish. I partnered up with an old Navy guy (late 60s) your never too old... who had also gone on the boat without a partner. Hes done 160 dives since hes been here and knew a lot about the sites so it made both dives more interesting. The second dive was similiar ...
Oceanview, Guam guamblog... the pearl effort I realized time was ticking and the sun would be going down within the next few hours so I had to start heading back to avoid getting a dark trail. A good part of the hike involved playing the "find the tape game" but it was a lot better marked than most hikes ive done so far. So I made it back in time for sunset and headed back to base with enough time to grab some good Air Force Chow and hit the sack before another fun filled week of flying.

Oceanview, Guam guamblog... at first but we followed a rope down that was anchored to the boat and the Tokai and eventually, around 40-50 feet, the visibility cleared up immensely. Wow. the first sight of the Tokai was overwhelming.. As the visibility began to clear on the descent the ship just seemed to appear out of the misty waters and just got bigger and bigger until it appeared to cover the seafloor. we kept going, descending down the side of the Tokai and ...
Oceanview, Guam guamblog... us. absolutely nowhere. Traveling further and further away, we came up on the mountainous part of the trail and could see some waterfalls coming off the mountain. So, figuring that they eventually led to the lower Sigua Falls that we were looking for we followed a strenous trail that eventually led us to what is known as "Upper Sigua Falls". We had some tough downhill slopes and a real sketchy rope we had to rappell down but after about another ...
Tumon, Guam guamblogLast weekend myself and a couple of buddies here ventured out to Pagat Point. It was like a 1 hour hike/boulder down a thick forest and rock cliff. Pretty exciting but very buggy! And I definitly learned that sunscreen is kind of essential in the tropics! We had ...
Tumon, Guam travellerhans... try, but I'll stick with my daily Dunkin' Donuts regular light & sweet. The Dinner show was great-the music and dancing were outstanding. The costumes were beautiful and the drummers got everyone into the mood of the story. CJ was even selected for a little audience participation! I don't know how long the pictures of that part of the show will be up because I'm not supposed to be sharing them, so ENJOY for now!
Piti, Guam joelleOur new friend Margaret took us out sight-seeing on Saturday. We started at the beautiful Two Lovers Point . This overlook is a popular spot for weddings, especially with Japanese tourists. There is a wedding chapel there, but we weren't able to go inside because there was a ceremony that afternoon.
Tumon Bay, Guam joelle... realizing it until Chris came into the room (after finishing duty turnover on the ship). I decided it wasn't that bad to miss the tour when, a few hours later, we were lounging around looking out on crystal blue waters and drinking Coronas with the breeze in our faces. This was after we had a great hotel brunch (allllll you can eat!) and then bought some exorbitantly-priced sandals and suntan lotion in the hotel lobby, but at least I didn't get too burned by the near ...
