... bread and use them to grab portions of the meat or sauces so the whole thing can be popped in one’s mouth. After a slice or two of the bread, people switch to rice, another favorite staple that goes well with all the sauces, and the meal continues. After a small portion of dessert we had strong coffee, another specialty of Mauritius (though people often drink tea as well). The whole meal, and the fellowship was a delight.

... Our flight was at 10pm so had a bit of hanging around to do but it wasn't too bad. Boarding the plane was a bit if a shambles so the flight didn't set off until 10.40 and we seemed to be surrounded by even more children than in the flight out. Had our meal and the lights went out at about 12.30 which made it much easier to sleep. Flight landed in time at 7.30am to a dreary looking London, bags collected, taxi booked and back to ...

... had subsided, we had a good laugh at my expense over a delicious mine frit at one of my favourite local cafes.

We had been invited by my uncle Louis and aunt Kareen to join them, their daughter Alicia and my cousin Ronald & his awesome girlfriend Laura for dinner at their beautiful home on the mountain. After some divine steak and some much needed catching up we headed home, bellies full to admire the Olympiads in all their athletic glory :)
