... and of the River, up to the other bridges and beyond, and down to the Statue of Liberty are brilliant! It's a 20 minute walk, but of course you spend much longer, stopping to admire the views and take photos. The tradition of putting locks on bridges to symbolise relationships is going strong here too - there are locks on every accessible bit of wire narrow enough! The big day, a certain calmness descended over the city. The crowds were smaller, the hustle and bustle was less but it was still New York. A quick visit to the tree and ice rink at the Rockefella centre, no I did not join in.

Breakfast at the famous Ellen Stardust dinner on Broadway. The all American diner with singing waiters. A bit of fun to start the day.

... windows. We looked at Bergdoff Goodman's, Macy's, Bloomingdales, Barneys, Tiffany, De Beers and Cartier. Check out the photos. We also passed the Apple Store, the Plaza Hotel and a number of landmarks along Fifth avenue.

We popped into a couple of shops, the crowds were much thinner, but it was 11pm by this stage. I spoke to a couple of exhausted shop workers, they were over Black Friday by this stage.

Tomorrow we plan a quieter day with a stroll around Central ...

The American pub description classifies it all. All the reviews on Yelp were right till the last world. High music, people all around the bar and the tables talking to each other, having fun. ... Crimson to Carole King, quite a change in musical genres. This theater is a newer one and is basically under ground level because the street level is the mezzanine level. The girl playing Carole King, Jessie Mueller was incredible and she has just won the Tony Award for Best Actress this year, and we could see why. One of the best things about this show was that they had musicians playing on stage live at times. One thing I didn't know ...
