... no knees, tummies, nothing too clingy and certainly no Lorna Jane lycra. (Rule no. 115). So I was very surprised and a tad confused when the masseuse (Indian lady dressed in full sari) asked me to remove all clothing, in front of her. I checked about the undies 3 times! Nothing worse than being nude at the wrong time. However undies were removed and a paper loin cloth was attached which was no aid to my modesty whatsoever.

We also discover that at 6pm each day, there is an organised fish feed. A staff member turns up off our beach at the set time with a couple of buckets of gunk; rancid, loosely chopped octopus like in appearance. On cue the shallows fill with a huge mass of fish of all shapes and sizes, with the key performers maybe 30 or so large Manta Rays. These flow in with the breaking waves and flutter into shallow water round the "feeder's" feet. ...

... suit here. Hundreds of people were enjoying the beautiful water, but all women and girls were dressed in burkas. I was glad that my shoulders were covered but uncomfortable that my shorts did not quite cover my knees. In a half hour, we reached the north side. We walked the street on the way back to see if we could find a restaurant. Hundreds of people were out-and-about but very few shops or restaurants were open. We found out later that Friday ...

... fishing - hauling in a gigantic Giant Jack by hand).. R’s blisters are proof of the fight that these creatures can give you.. needless to say, we had loads of fresh fish served to us. The chef was from Sri Lanka and as such, enjoyed cooking curries which went down well with the family. Loads of fresh fruit served for breakfast and a nice assortment of western style and traditional dishes were on offer.
