... night. The cabin had been made by his grandfather in the late 1800s and the floors were all crooked and the building was really old but it was pretty awesome. The water on site was sulphuric so although it was totally clean and good to drink, it smelled like the strongest rotten egg smell you could ever imagine. Showering was a little tricky with that stench but luckily it was a great shower so it evened out. The night was quiet and warm so we slept ...
... at the end of he Boardwalk. We saw a couple of gators on our ride as well as an ibis, a blue heron, egrets and a couple of small snakes (one of which was injured). At 3:45 we met the guide and took a 90 minute boat tour of the swamp. I must say - it wasn't what we were expecting. ... lots of trees and on a body of water connected to the swamp. Apparently they water ski on it in the summer - the gators don't bother them!! Can't imagine!!! We had a lovely sunset. We enjoyed a delicious collaborative dinner of steak, shrimp, potatoes/peppers and mushrooms finished off with chocolate covered strawberries. Not bad for camping!!! Then we enjoyed our second campfire on the road - nice ...
It was a nice easy drive to General Coffee State Park in Nicholls, Ga. The park is nice but only 2 other campers beside the host are here. All the sites are pull-thrus with water and electric only. We are relaxing before we go see our grandchildren in Crawfordville, Florida.
