... our way so we headed to Asheville, N.C., hoping to miss the worst of it. After about 2 hours the rain stopped and we had a dry trip the rest of our journey to a campground close to the entrance of the Blue Ridge Parkway. The campground was uphill on a gravel road for 1 mile but offered great views of the valley with its multitude of fall colors.

10/13 – We headed out for our 160 mile drive in the Jimmy on the Blue Ridge Parkway, designated ...

Stayed at a best western In Katy, just outside of Houston. Managed to get a decent deal on a good room that I'm sure the dude made an **** of. Got up in the morning and went to the big mall before hitting the road again. Drove all the way to where Jamie's dad used to work in Pascagoula, Mississippi. Another best western! We get up in the morning ready for another long day of driving, but that wasn't to be. Another cracker here in the book of ...

The drive up was nothing of note, but as soon as I got over the bridge and the huge, orange fuel pod appeared on the horizon, my nerd alert started firing. If you ever get a chance, and are a big nerd like me, I highly recommend this experience! I pulled into a relatively empty lot, bought my tickets, and immediately headed for my scheduled ...

We got in from Tallahassee a bit late and ended up crashing at Elizabeth's home. The next morning we lounged around sluggishly catching up on some much needed rest. After a while Hui and I headed to the beach to soak in some vitamin D before heading into the bitter cold. Apparently China was to experience a cold front just in time for Hui's arrival! Needles to say, we enjoyed every minute of the warmth. Afterwards, we headed to my parents place to stay the ...

... I understand this in my head but when you are looking at one and you are in the water it's a little scary.

Here is my alligator story. We were paddling down the river and Wolf spots this alligator on the bank sunning itself, so we all look over and I am about 100 feet from it STUCK in 2 inches of water and frantically trying to get moving because the 10 ft. alligator has entered the water. Picture this..... sticking the ...
