There's an enormous movement going on in LA to not only protect these buildings, but to also preserve and do them up. They have been closed to the public for decades, languishing behind boards and metal shutters, collecting dust.

And this is where my thematic entries will start. With an idea. A germ of an idea. The theatre, the film...Hollywood. Where people come to be free, to be and do things they ...

I saw the biggest parrotfish I’ve ever seen in my life; this thing was huge.

... We were about 30 mins walk short. Stopped at a further stop & caught the 'Big Blue Bus' which are Santa Monica buses & actually run the whole way from our hotel without us having to change and it was only 50c each! (The other bus had only been $1.50 so it wasn't too bad). Santa Monica is quite a long way out - about an hour (without errors!)
Santa Monica Pier and beach don't look quite the same in cloud, but it was still nice to wander along the pier. ...

Menina luckily still had to start talking so we were technically still on time. We got a program handed out and an overview of who was in which rooms. Menina introduced herself and two of her HST alumni, Lisa and Jess, who had both done the programme in the past and had both moved to LA. They were going to help us and Menina this ...
