It was our last day in SF today and although we had to make our way to the airport pretty early, we made the most of our morning! A quick stop for some breakfasty bagels (and stealing some more for a cheap lunch) and we made our way to the windy part of Lombard street! We walked there and back which wasn't too far from our hostel. It was very pretty! Although afterwards on Instagram our tour guide from the previous day said that there is actually a windier street in SF! Oh well ...
... fact that we have slept on many different mattresses over the past year we believed Rick's back just needed a rest. He literally spent the entire week at Palm Desert in a lounge chair with a heating pad and aspirin. The back got no better but the calendar told us it is time to leave the desert, catch an early dinner with my mother and then hop on a flight to Santa Rosa to visit our dear friends, Richard and Lyn.
... was the end our tour. Shane and I stayed a bit longer to do some shopping. I wanted a huge unicorn from despicable me, but not wise for travel. I did get some really cool Homer pj pants lol and a huge donut (all edible, see photo lol) We had dinner and watched a few of the other shows, like the blues brothers and the trained animals. Then we headed back to our hotel after a hugely long day! It was so much fun! Cannot wait to take the kids back there one day! ...

“Ahhhh, warm at last,” I swoon. “I LOVE fireplaces. This reminds me of our white marble fireplace in our cabin resort home in Michigan. I used to stare at our fire for hours. The flames are so mesmerizing with their ever changing shapes and colors.”

Venice Beach provided hours of people watching performing on the beach boardwalk and working out on the famous Muscle Beach. Muscle Beach wasn't the raw pumping iron in the sand as we envisioned but was enclosed in an area where men, proven shameless from their banana hammocks, were working out.
