Travel Blogs from Tianjin
Having finished 3 months of boredom and Chinese studying in Qingdao on the 23rd of December I hopped on a bullet train on Christmas eve to spend Christmas with my buds in Tianjin.
It was my first Christmas away from home but we all clubbed together and had a whale of a bloody time.
About 15 of us hired out ...
... it. After that we decided to go back to the hostel.
That evening we decided to go to our first 'Chinese' club, which pretty much beats clubs back home. The club included dice games on the tables, massive handles of whisky and live performances. The only thing that seemed off-putting was that we were pretty much the only westerners there and it felt like a freak show with people watching us.
The next day we had to pack our stuff ...
... clips with me to count. Every time I went past the dancing I moved another clip meaning I didn’t have to count & remember.
Those that ‘joined’ me around the park were running (one backwards), walking, scootering, pushing wheelchairs with elderly people on them & cycling.
And me, with no sweat? Well, actually, I was testing my electric bike. There had been some doubt ...
... it feel as if you're walking through a Kungfu movie.
At the northern part of the city, you can see other Western architecture, a legacy from the Italians.
Have you tried having tea served like ...
... villas to towering skyscrapers.
Upon taking a rest, do try the Pau over in Tianjin. It tastes slightly different from the usual ones that we have here in Singapore:
