The wake up was 7am, breakfast was in the large glass pyramide with the tropical trees and plants..and we left Vienna at 8.30am. Caught a bit of internet before we left to do a few last posts..some of the other bigger laptops could get internet on the bus which was parked outside the hotel, our..sadly couldn't. So we were off towards Salzburdg for too short a time which I was sad about. I was also a little sad that I hadn't looked up the weather in Salzburg/Munich before getting dressed ...
Wasn't too long a drive to Munich with a stop-off at Salzburg (nice city). In the afternoon had a few hours free time to look around the town centre. First time we have had rain this trip. Dinner was at a beer hall. Ended up skulling a 1/2 litre of beer at dinner and then one down in the Beer hall. Taped the one downstairs. 8 seconds. Still have it. No more beer ever.
Munich, Bavaria, Germany ka.duncanToday was another early morning as we have 3 countries today. We left Lucerne and made our way on the coach over to Mt. Stanserhorn. Arriving in the small town of Stans, we all got our funicular ticket that would take us all the way to the top of the mountain with views of the surrounding Alps. The entire group took this optional and we all boarded this little train that would take us to the furnicular. It was a very relaxing ride with cool crisp air mixed with the sounds of cowbells ringing...

... so expansive, this was a full day trip, even being there three hours we still only saw a small part of the camp.
When we had arrived at the train station in Dachau we realized we didn't know how to actually get to the camp. I had overheard a tour leader say that they were getting off in a few stops, realizing that they were probably going to the concentration camp. So getting of the train we just followed the tour group and acted like we were ...
... my bag and then went and meet up with Bryan Larson. He was nice enough to pick me up and drive me to Munich. It was crazy, we went on the autobond and went about 210 Kilos an hours so about 130 miles an hour, so fast and I didn’t even feel it. Well then we finally made it into Munich and went to his place. A nice, very nice place on the fifth floor of a building in downtown, it was here where I had my first beer. It was awesome a great beer.

... Oh well it was fun !!! After a couple of long tunnels, we arrived back in Germany, our weekend was over once again. And Finally It had been good to see Munchen outside of Oktoberfest. A little disappointing, but still full of Italians. Ludwig's palace was fun, but it was great to drive through the centre of Austria. I really think my parents made a mistake when the emigrated. I'm sure they were meant to say Austria, but mis-spelt it and put Australia !!!
Munich, Germany uncle_davros... an area with memorials for the people that were killed at the camp. That night we went to the English Garten, which is a big park and the beer garden there. We also went to the Hofbrahaus, another beer garden/hall. The next day we went to a brewery in a small town north of Munich. It was called the Weifhenstephan brewery. That night we took the overnight train to Venice.
Munich, Germany jschumanShort a sweet!! We went to the BMW plant and it was so cool!! I only got to take one or two pictures so I am posting them with this blog. It was really neat to see sheet metal go from flat to a entire car being painted to being sent through works finished and driven to the storage area. It was hot outside but it was ...
Munich, Germany andreab... a Currywurst and some Gluhwein for lunch. I was not impressed with the Currywurst. Funny taste and not real filling. From there I walked down to the Isar River to the Deutsches Museum. That was really neat. Lots of machines, trains, and planes, and it explained the history these things with really awesome models. I spent a lot of time there and may be the best ...
Munich, Germany popecf... no longer stay in 4 or 5 star hotels and eat expensive restaurant meals! It´s about time I got back to the old backpacker´s way of life anyway. I feel guilty for having lived like a queen while travelling with him. There wasn´t anything in Munich that I was interested in seeing. The info clerk at the train station was a major %*&§£#% to me. Again, I was glad to be leaving Germany.
