So, now I'm in the hotel lobby after a completely exhausting day of Girl Guide public relations mumbo jumbo. I don't want to say that these types of bureaucratic meetings are pointless, but I have been to quite a few and don't seem to accomplish anything. Today I woke up at 7 a.m. after five hours of sleep. Not happy about that. My roommate woke up way too early and we were even too early for breakfast. Anyway, after a petit dejeuner of croissants and jam, I promptly find what look like worms...

My dear friends: It's getting colder in Canada and my thoughts are wandering to warmer climes. On January 12/2010, I fly to Managua, Nicaragua and then work my way north ending up in Cancun, Mexico. From there, I fly to join many members of the Gaudun family in Daytona Beach. If you would rather not get notifications of my travel blogs just send a brief "no thank you" to this travelpod . No problem. Hasta la vista baby. Steve
Dundas, Ontario, Canada sgaudun... farm north of Ocala for a night and gave Bogie a swim, after first checking for gators, in the Ocala National Forest. The next day, we visited Cindy's daughter and her husband in Tampa where college football was the highlight (GO GATORS GO - who are now in the national championship game on January seventh). The next day, visited the Braithwaite's condo in Naples to see Anne and offer her a kayak trip in the Everglades ...
Mississauga, Ontario, Canada tombuttle... Flight of the Conchords to watch on my mp3 player saved me from insanity. (Thank you Sandra and Adam) Also, wearing flipflops on a journey to the Great White North is possibly not a great idea. My toes were cold. Luckily the lovely people of the HI Hostel in Toronto let me check in early so I could get a few hours kips before heading off to explore the city a bit. Tomorrow I am meeting my friend Julie for s wander round the city. Looking ...
Toronto, Ontario, Canada helenbels... this water to the parkland Islands just across from the city. A short narration was great that gave information about the Islands history, from being Casinos and hotels in the prohibition era of the 1920's visited by a lot of Americans to the end of Prohibition, and the bulldozing down of the buildings and acquired for parklands to be enjoyed by the people of Toronto. Also a section of one of the islands has, "Clothing optional" beach to the lake foreshore, it is only one ...
Toronto, Ontario, Canada popusa2008... red, 19th century style military jackets with stuff pinned on them. I was dancing with the one girl from the band earlier at the Hollerado show, and she remembered me, so we sort of hung out and had some drinks. I also became friends with this other girl that sort of crashed the party too. She was friends with the red jacket band, so that's how she got invited. Me however, I only got there, thanks to my unbelievable observation skills. As I mentioned above, I hadn't ...
Toronto, Ontario, Canada starlagurlSo...I am looking at all the "stuff" I have layed out for our big adventure, and wondering how in heaven's name I am going to fit all that stuff into a tiny tiny 26 inch suitcase, and it is becoming pretty clear to me that it is time to let the weeding begin. I fear I'd better do it myself , and do it quick, or I will have both Colleen and Davina over here making the cuts, and who knows ...
Mississauga, Ontario, Canada cdawn... time to stop by a laundromat, even on a tight schedule. 2.) Gray or neutral colored t-shirts and underwear - avoid white or light colors, as they make stains and dirt more obvious. Gray camouflages little stains, so you tend to look a bit less of a vagrant. 3.) At least 3 pairs of shoes - running shoes - comfortable for walking, your daily run, or ball games. flip flops - for the communal shower, the beach, or a really hot summer day ...
Toronto, Ontario, Canada soloflyerHight Park is a nice place to have a walk and take a break. It is close to downtown. The park stretches south from Bloor st. West to the Queesway (subway station : Hight Park or Keele

I have visited the park in winter but it may be cutest in spring or summer. <br ...
Toronto, Ontario, Canada berutoran... it gets progressively seedier and as we walked by some guy he asked "Want some crack?" We're assuming he was selling drugs and wasn't a male prostitute. heh heh. This week has been the major Totonto film festival, so apparently the city has been awash with celebrities. On the way back to our appartment we saw a crowd gathered and a red carpet and stayed awhile out of curiosity to see who we might see, and then out of a limo popped Helena ...
