Historical Traveler Reviews of Holiday Inn Select Denver-Cherry Creek

Great Hotel, Nice area

from A TripAdvisor Member
This is a very nice hotel, great location, close to the museums, mall, downtown, etc. Staff was nice and friendly, looks like it's been renovated recently. Much better than your average Holiday Inn!

Strip club is close by!

from A TripAdvisor Member
A fairly dingy hotel, across the street from a seedy strip club! It's a bargain compared to downtown Denver hotel prices, though. Rooms are tired and rugs are soiled. Coffee maker sits atop shelf above the enclosed toilet, not the best place by public health standards! Women alone beware of the dark underground garage--poorly lit, no security, it feels as if you could be mugged and never be seen again. Restaurant in lobby a good bet for breakfast, though meaty and stachy and greasy food is served(fruit is old and tasteless).

Nicest Holiday Inn that I have ever seen.

from A TripAdvisor Member
This Holiday Inn could easily be a Crown Plaza or full service Hilton. The hotel was very well appointed. It did feel understaffed, but the attitude from several that I encountered made up for it. Perfect location in Cherry Creek with ample free parking. Olives bar was inviting and the restaurant food was way better than I ever dreamed for a Holiday Inn. I don't understand what the Select stands for exactly, but do your self a favor and give this hotel a try. The people who wrote negative comments on this hotel must have been smoking something or completely blind. It's not the Ritz Carlton, but you won't find better quality in Denver for the money.

This place is a NIGHTMARE!

from A TripAdvisor Member
What a nightmare!First they didn't book the room I asked for. They lead me to believe that broadband was readily available but it's really only avaialable in the rooms that twice what they quoted me, $139 a night! Then, even tho I had put my credit card on file, they some how lost it so that I couldn't order room amenities and had to go downstairs at 10pm.The only difference in the two rooms were broadband access, a soap dish, and doors on the closet! Then they had the nerve to charge me for local calls! Of which I made, perhaps a dozen and that's generous, for which they charged me $19.60.This is NOT a 3 star hotel, it's a rip off flop house.

Great location - average hotel

from A TripAdvisor Member
Easy to access - great underground parking. Rooms were fine - nothing special. Were there for 5 days and did encounter one morning where hot water was barely warm. Denver's weather was sunny and very hot during our stay, and we did have some trouble keeping the room temp in the lower 70's. For our purposes ( a place to sleep and regroup for the next day on the road) it was fine. If we were going to spend more time in the room, I think we would have found another hotel.

Pretty Bad

What can I say but a tired Holiday Inn with some minor cosmetic upgrades. We will never stay at a Holiday Inn again based on our stay here. I booked based on the glowing remarks I had read here. Expected a comfortable stay but instead got a small room with a noisey A/C that after complaining never got fixed correctly. No hot water for two days out of six, rust covered bath drain, painted over chips in bath tub and a tiny bathroom. One morning decided to try breakfast at the Grill, big mistake! Sat down and ask waitress for menu and she flat out just told us to go to buffet and also get coffee there too. This was 10:00 am in morning after the buffet was cold and fully picked over. Couldn't find waitress again to try and force a menu out of her so we left. Also, I'm a priority club member and was to get a paper every morning. After calling desk three mornings in a row decided it must be getting swiped so asked them to hold one for me. No way and they didn't seem to care one bit. From now on we will stick with better hotels or if we want to save $$ we will pick someone else.

Never Stay In this Hotel!

from A TripAdvisor Member
My stay was HORRIBLE! Someone behind the desk pocketed my cash and charged the room to my credit card. I would not trust anyone at the hotel, not even the GM.

Do not stay at a Holiday Inn Select if you want good customer service and loyal employees! Watch your Wallets too! My ranking -100

Our new Denver hotel!

from A TripAdvisor Member
We go to Denver pretty frequently and our last trip we used the Holiday Inn Select-Cherry Creek. The hotel was absolutely beautiful and we felt as if we were in a resort! I remember this hotel before renovations and would never think it was the same hotel. It was so warm and inviting. The staff was personable and made us feel important. We have made this our new hotel for vacationing and my husband and his company who travel here have also because of the centralized location to both downtown and the Tech Center!

Best Holiday Inn in Denver!

from A TripAdvisor Member
This the nicest Holiday Inn I have ever stayed in. The decor was as nice as a Westin hotel. The service was impeccable and I was treated as if I was a family member. The indoor pool was a nice surprise. Location can't be beat. I walked to the Cherry Creek Shopping Center and took their free shuttle to the downtown area. Free parking and a great little bar called Olives. Best value in Denver by a long shot.

Great Hotel

This hotel was clean and classy. I will definitely stay again. I loved that the front desk spoke Spanish. I will definitely recommend it.
