          My afternoon was spent in the federal court. I watched a sentencing hearing for a gun crime (trafficking). Defendant says "I haven't seen my lawyer, I didn't even know we had today's hearing". In the UK judge would say, fine have 15 mins conference in the cells. In the US they were given a SIX WEEK adjournment. Apparently this is because all cases have an automatic right of appeal (not the case in UK) and ...

          ... for the traffic to get worse around every corner and after each exit but it was actually pretty smooth sailing. The traffic heading south was at a stand still. Kevin did amazing getting us through it all. I can’t imagine pulling a trailer through that was easy. Plus I was the one reading the map so I’m sure that put added stress on Kevin.

          ... the shuttle a hail a cab to return to the Hampton Inn. Again, nothing is easy. Our cabbie, Long Duck Dong, can't get the trunk open without turning off the car.           ... to Lake Michigan and trying to control the fire by using buckets of water from there (lol) , not helping the situation was the fact that the majority of the buildings were built by wood so fire would have a pretty bad effect on them... and then when the fire reached the fire dept one of the only buildings made of stone...the roof was still made of wood so when that caught fire there was no hope and the fire dept was burnt aswell!
