... very much about this museum was the great number of very interesting civilian home-built 'kit' planes from the 70's and 80's - very exciting to see what people were building then (and may still be building now). Some are very small while others start to see some size in them.

On the way to see MLK, we stopped to watch a 2nd grade cricket team, played mainly by West Indians and Pakistanis. Had a bit of a chat with a Pakistani batsman. Apparently the opposition umpire has been handing out LBWs like speeding tickets in Mandurah. Anyway there was a disputed run out when we were watching and there was quite a lot dissent particularly from this fat Pakistani in the outfield. How he could see ...
... pretty hot. We knew we were in trouble though, when the taxi driver didn't want to take us to the hotel. Got there to find I had picked one of the worst locations in town. No public transport, shady area and trains running behind the hotel.
After dumping our stuff, we headed down to the nearest Metro station. Half a mile isn't that far, right? The footpath between the hotel and the traffic lights was really dirty and almost non-existent in some places. ...
Airport selfie while my flight is delayed! First stop: Frankfurt, Germany for a lovely 4 hour layover. Luckily, according to my flight attendant, "there is a lot of hot air in Washington," so our strong tailwinds should land me in Frankfurt close to my original arrival ...

House we visit the National Air & Space Museum, Smithsonian Castle, the Washington Memorial (tall pointed tower that is in Forrest Gump) as well as taking pictures of some out door gardens and furniture, we also manage to squeeze in subs for lunch (small one with all the salads please!) and find a shop for Shannon to get his cigs (thank goodness). After many stops we arrive at the White House and security is on alert, the grounds are beautiful, though ...
