... apparently our trains final destination is on the other side of Washington so we didn't realise what we where listening for. We line up again and make it on in plenty of time and are able to get seats together. The train is much roomier than the planes and the seats are wide and comfy, it was a really smooth enjoyable ride for my first proper train trip.
