      Saying Goodbye to Tennessee

I had bacon, eggs, and toast for breakfast which was free from the hotel. I am sad to see Tennessee in my rearview mirror but I am headed to Atlanta. I drove through the mountains and then stopped for lunch at Chipotle for $9.30. I only ate half and will finish the rest for dinner. I stopped for gas in Atlanta at Chevron for $36.90.

Got to Atlanta on Friday, Nov 7 and stayed till Tuesday morning, Nov. 11.
Donna come over on Friday night and I just can't say how good it was to see her. She was actually the first one that I saw many years ago when I went to Atlanta to meet Damita after becoming a full time employee of CNN. The department was the Public Information back then and I remember the rain when I came in. I had to pull over and called Donna hoping for someone to talk to while I sat waiting for it ...

Brrrrr! Even for me. We are flying at 39,137 feet at an air speed of 567 miles per hour. We should land in Lima 1 hour and 57 minutes. We have 966 miles to go. And have traveled ...

      ... as well.

It was starting to get late so we headed back to our hotel then walked to a restaurant called Aunt Pitty Pat's. They served lots of Southern food so I ordered the Gumbo soup. It was a bit on the salty side so I enjoyed the salad bar that came with the order. An interesting food was pickled watermelon rind. It was very tasty!

... we had with corn on the cob and baked potato….ahhh, roughing it.

The next day we sat watching the Olympics in the waiting area as the Apalachee mechanics worked on our generator problems. Finally, at 1 p.m. we were cast loose with a definite lightening of the pocketbook…..arrrrggggggghhhhhh. All this money into a unit that we might use 4-5 times during this trip. Oh, well.

The mechanical delays have put ...
