Holiday Inn Sarasota-Lakewood Ranch, Fl

My boyfriend and I stayed here in early January whilst touring Florida. After the hectic theme parks in Orlando we thought this would be a nice place to relax and explore the gulf coast. I have to say that overall I was disappointed. I stay at a lot of holiday inns and rate this as average. I had asked for a front facing room on a high floor which we received however we did not realise that at the front of the hotel is a nice view of the I-75! We were also above the outlet for the Alamo restaurant and could not open the window due to the greasy smell. By far the worst complaint that we have about this hotel though is the soundproofing or lack of it - we had trouble getting to sleep due to the noise of tv sets on either side of us, considering this is such a new hotel I was surprised that the build quality is so poor.

On the plus side this hotel is very easy to find, clean and the staff are friendly but I would not stay here again due to the noise.

Have the stuffed tomatoes for lunch! Best Holiday Inn this Priority Club member has ever seen! The hard-wired fast-internet is far superior to the trendy, but unpredictable wireless variety. Clean, well-appointed bathroom. Well-maintained lobby & exterior.

We stumbled onto this place while looking for a place to park an abundance of relatives from up North. It is NOT your typical "Holiday Inn". Very well run, clean as a whistle with a staff that goes out of its way to accommodate. The Alamo Steak House is great. It is located at Lakewood Ranch which is an incredible area. I highly recommend it.

This is a great Holiday Inn! I've stayed in many hotels (Embassey Suites, Sheraton, Intercontinental, The Plaza, etc) and was very pleasantly surprised by this Holiday Inn. While not quite the caliber of the aforementioned hotels, for the money it's a great deal! Rooms were very nice and clean, service was exceptional by the staff, nice restaurant, and only about 10 minutes from the beach. Definitely will stay there again.

I just returned from a stay (April 4) at this Holiday Inn. IT really was more like a Sheraton. Big room, big bathroom, outdoor pool good enough for kids; a few exercise machines with a TV, free internet access, and it was all clean and new! Note that this is in a strip mall, conveniently located off the interstate but about 7 miles (straight road) from the Sarasota shore, where most of the attractions were. I would definitely stay here again though.

This place is as good, or better than most 4-star hotels and at a fraction of the price. Definitely several notches above a normal Holiday Inn. Rooms are very well furnished and the hotel generally is quite classy. It's not that close to the beach if that's what you're there for but a 20 minute drive is small price to pay. Staff were generally very good. Alamo restaurant has good food at reasonable prices. Only negative were the staff in the restaurant at breakfast - not a happy bunch. Stay here, you won't regret it.

Found this hotel through trip.advisor.com website ..such good reviews had to make sure we made it our nights stay while in sarasota. We went to the Siesta Keys beach that day and was a short ..well worth drive to Holiday Inn Lakewood. Front desk personel were outstanding, hotel restaurant..although short handed served a wonderful meal (steak dinner)..pool and hot tub well maintained...room squeeky clean. No complaints... if you book through holiday Inn website..you are getting a steal for sure!!

We came down here to go on a charter fishing trip and happened upon this hotel. We stayed for one night and left saying, "We have to go back!" This is our second stay in the hotel and it is absolutely impressive. The service from the staff, the friendliness and ambiance are just a few of the fine things at this hotel. The restaurant inside, Alamo Steakhouse, has GREAT food and room service. You will not be disappointed.

We accidentally stumbled onto a real treasure. THe community (Lakewood Ranch) was so peaceful and inviting. The man at the front desk was amazingly nice and helpful. The restaurant was good and service was very friendly. The room was very nice. We expecially liked the design of the bathroom. The shower is such a good idea! Check it out!

We have had several guests stay in this hotel and they have been very impressed with the ambiance of the hotel - tropical and above their expectations for a Holiday Inn. Very convenient location from the expressway. Highly recommend this hotel.
