This morning was pretty much a day for wasting. I did not realise that we would cover all there was to see in Santa Cruz yesterday evening. We had a spa session booked for 3pm, so we had plenty of time to spare.

We took our time organising our stuff at the motel, and started the day with a fantastic bagels at Bagelry. I had a jalapeno bagel, ½ with hummus and ½ with egg salad. They were both yummy, but the hummus was better. Azrael went for boring and had a garlic bagel with cream ...

Well, it is hard to believe, but we are leaving in just 6 days! It feels like we've been planning this trip forever. I think I've got just about everything together. We have places to stay, cars to drive, and guidebooks galore. I am doing my very best to try to relax and not think about things like driving on the other side of the road, getting used ...

... this chain opened up more recently in San Jose. I was surprised to find that despite being fast food, they cut the potatoes in front of you and fry them there. They aren't frozen which makes for a good french fry. The menu is kind of confusing though with it's "secret" options. So the plan for tomorrow is for me to go to Sacramento by the evening. Hi again Last time i wrote we were just about to drive back down the pacific coast highway to L.A. We did the Big Sur (a beautiful part of the coastline) this time in the daylight! and then camped in our caved in tent in Morro bay ( half way point to L.a) We decided to go for a drink that night in a local saloon bar.It was very nice and the locals were very friendly. The next day we drove back to L.A and found a motel.

We're planning on getting the ferry to Alcatraz, biking the Golden Gate Bridge, going to other islands, visiting Charlotte's family (cousins, aunts etc in sunny Gilroy), and maybe renting a car to drive around California! The 3 of them leave for the Greyhound Bus and a journey to Las Vegas about midnight and Gavin and I return to the hostel.
