Plans thus far!

... thus far:

We'll be starting in Lake Elsinore where we'll be renting our car and starting travel no later than 10 am! Our first stop will be in northern Cali! A place called Sonoma Coast State Beach! It's right on the ocean and rumor has it that during the winter whales and elephant seals migrate and can be spotted here. There will probably be a stop in San Fran to see the sights as well but we'll play that by ear. (Keep in mind the places I'm saying are just to get us from ...

Road Trip California

3rd - 14th December 2007. Our time in San Fran was at an end so we pointed the PT Cruiser south and headed down the famous Highway 1 scenic coastal highway. This road trip had been talked up by all the Californians we had met on our travels and we had been looking forward to it. Unfortunately, the weather decided not to co-operate. The ocean was a foggy stone grey with overhead cloud and drizzle. Not the most ideal conditions. It was still pretty ...

... for the next few days, and it really is a great place to stay. The owner Javier Diaz is a descendant of one of the oldest families in the city, and is a great host. The house itself is nothing to look at from the outside, but inside is very colonial, covered in paintings and photos, and collections from Javier´s travels, and the garden hosts banana plants, orange and avocado trees, hummingbirds, and is a peaceful ...

First stop in the USA: Los Angeles, California

... in. This afternoon we just wandered around the neighborhood watching all the strange people on this beach - everything from street performers to people in costumes on roller blades, to tourists and homeless people. The weather was not quite as warm as we had expected and hoped for. A cold front from Alaska had swept over California, leaving us with temperatures of between 10 and 15 degrees. Not exactly ...

Surfing Huntington Beach

If you've ever seen the recent popular american tv show ''The OC'', this place looks exactly like the beach side in many of the scenes. Many popular surf shops nearby like Billabong and Hurley, a long peir streching out over the water with restaurants and stores on the end, expensive parkinglots close to the shore, tonnes of people tanning surfing and playing in the sand, and large sidewalks on the beach to walk, skateboard, jog, bike and inline skate on.

... these life altering moments with you as they happen. So hang on, it should be an interesting ride. Addendum January 17: We leave now in 22 days and I've been asked by almost everyone what the plan is. So here's the basic itinerary, keeping in mind that most of this is subject to change and only Peru tickets and the round trip in and out of Europe have been purchased: Feb 8-March 29: Peru. This includes several days teaching ...

... he had in the Boquete Highlands. Journey: Tashas favourite journey was the banana licuado fuelled chicken bus ride from the El Salvador border to Santa Rosa de Copan in Honduras while Keiths was the two-day off road chicken bus journey from Coban to Huehuetenango in Guatemala. Funniest Moment: Keiths has to be the barber shop in Coban, Guatemala, where he was left with one of the more amusing moustaches you are likely to see and Tashas was the chicken bus ...
