    Totally Screwed Up Reservation

We will not stay here again! Mixed up our reservations, despite follow up phone calls, double charged the credit cards, no tissue in room, phone didn't work, ice machine on floor didn't work, and door to room stuck - had to shove open and slam shut. Management was very lackadaisial about it - his attitude was that is just the way it is.

    Voll okay

    The Protection of Zion

... Our next outings were calculated to avoid the crowds at Zion and go to places we assumed would be less crowded during the holiday. Zion National Park also includes a separate section that is accessed via an entrance off of Interstate 15. Here, Kolob Canyon offers a slightly different topology than Zion and the ability to climb some mountains for wonderful views including a chance at seeing the north rim of the Grand Canyon. We head up the mountain in clear blue skies ...

... St. George’s main industry is tourism, its location to Zion and Bryce National Parks drawing many thousands of tourists each year.

The city’s historical buildings reflect two influences: a southern-based, gracious architecture, and a more wild-West-type construction.

... the interior. We also got rid to the two over-sized upholstered dining room chairs, replacing them with something lighter and more practical. We replaced all of the incandescent light bulbs in the entire coach with new low-wattage LED lighting. The lights made a significant difference in that they produce a brighter, more natural, light, yet put out very little heat. These three improvements made a big difference in a more modern look for our home. ...

... as it must be to live there, Vegas is a growing city with buildings going up all the time. The GPS can't keep up. We found a small Walmart and got groceries and moved on back into the desert along I-15 northbound. We passed spots along the Virgin River in Arizona that I know are beautiful, but night had fallen. We settled for a cheap motel in the Mormon city of Saint George on the Utah side of the border. My short, emotionless report concludes ...

... no mishaps, you can have an adventure and get there quicker. Theoretically. Robert said. :)

.Smithsonian Butte National Backcountry Byway. a dirt, sand, rock and gravel road through some amazing scenery.... much of which we wouldn't be ogling this time because by the time we got there the sun was setting and the full moon was rising.

We stopped for a quick few pics of the amazing sight of the moon over ...
