I decided to buy a Welcome Pack for 10 Euros as it gave me discounts at all of the attractions I wanted to see, a free map of Rotterdam, plus unlimited travel. It was a bargain. ... Nice, when that happens, you know deep down that something is right.

Although no visit to the Netherlands would be complete without Amsterdam, the main reason for going there was to see my friend Milou who I met at the hostel in Phuket back in late March. It was good that I had a distraction because the hostel I eventually chose - on cost grounds - was a bit of a rat hole. Then it will be time for looking into clothing. That is already causing me headaches. What to bring? Temperatures will range between +35 C (+95 F) and -45 C (-49F). Let's not talk about windchill, that can be -59 C (-75 F). Whew. Looking into this, apparantly "layers" is the keyword here.
