... slightly shorter, we stayed. After about an hour and a half we were on the Eye with a great view of the city. Sadly it seemed to only last for 20 minutes.

Afterwards we visited a nearby Buddhist temple which seemed to have a strange obsession with Guan Yu. In the temple I got kicked out of one of the rooms for wondering down the wrong corridor.

      The
day started bright and early in the morning in Beijing as we woke

... the first 9 holes and had a couple of bar-b-que (BBQ) spikes (nice), a drink of tea or juice (free) and a beer. I suspect we had a beer only because G asked me if I wanted one and, thinking he did, I said OK. Ah well.

After a few more holes G asked if I wanted some watermelon at next stop. There was a little café manned by two staff where G & I ate some watermelon until there were two left. (I had asked, in Chinese, if the watermelon ...

... now. I am so looking forward to the vacation. My plan for Bangkok are the nightlife things I missed out on last year as I was alone. So that includes Muay tai fights, night markets and other unmentionable sports that involve pingpong balls, but no net or table. Oh. Literally got told three times to turn my phone off... Stupid airplane rules. Tell me how the iPad on is different than the iPhone on in airplane mode? Once ...
