... We found a little restaurant called "Uno", with an ambitious Italian menu, which of course we didn't try. Their Thai food was chopstick-licking good though. Still, I've not found any fried bananas and it's been 3 days, 3 days of pure hell...

Years ago, Pierre used to call me his tai-tai, which means Supreme Wife, a Chinese term to depict the boss of the household when Chinese men used to have concubines galore. Now he calls ...

Cha-am, Thailand wilhelm-... s filling in nicely for the Malaysian laksa that I miss so much! We separated into small groups and I spent the afternoon with Sophie and Helena. We sat on the beach until the afternoon rain started, and then had a look round the shops and market before going to meet everyone at Mai Thai, the bar we were at last night. Sadly we had to say goodbye to Sophie and Helena at this point before the rest of us headed back to the centre, as they are off travelling ...
Phetchaburi, Thailand annek... been so badly mistreated and abused throughout their lives. I know that a lot of what the volunteers do is general everyday needed maintenance, feeding and cleaning--so you don't really see any longterm change or development from all the hours of work--but be serious, feeding 200 primates a day (300 animals total) could never possibly be done without the work of all of us volunteers and I'm just so glad to be a part of it. :)
Phetchaburi, Thailand ktmcq143... had no sleep at all. Bangkok, Thailand schoie... bedding, as we'd be sleeping on the floor of a local temple when we got there, pretty swiftly. We headed down from the volunteer house to see what the state of play was with Dada and the kids fearing the worst. Amazingly it all seemed to be going very smoothly. The extra truck which was being driven by a local man on the proviso that his family could come along for a free holiday had arrived on schedule and the three vehicles had nearly been loaded with all the ...

Phetchaburi, Thailand angelaliottaat about 0630 am this morning, when i was awakened by the sound of the bangkok post hitting my porch, i went out to the little soi store for some soymilk for breakfast and while i was there billy walked in and without a word went straight to the beer cooler, grabbed a large bottle of chang beer and walked straight back to his house. this is his first bottle of the day. there will be many more ...
Cha-am, Thailand soidogHere is a story with a beginning and an end but one that goes around and around in a circle until there is no beginning and no end. In the beginning, the rich powerful falang meets a poor powerless Thai woman. The falang has taken survival for granted and pursues pleasure and happiness by spending money. She is just trying to survive. He is the one with the money and she is the one that is desperate for some of that money. He is powerful and she is pliant and servile. Then ...
