Check in was efficient. Room is lovely with pool view, however no lifts available to all rooms.
Large pools and sandy beach to shores of Dead Sea, with protective footwear available. Nice restaurants. Overall a very pleasant stay.

Great hotel, good service apart from one glitch. Good food execellent breakfast buffet.

Downside is the total isolation there is a moonscape on every side of the hotel. If you are happy with staying in a resort and not venturing out other than on day trips it is fine.

We left the pink city of Petra en route to Aqba. On the way we had a little desert detour to have the Wadi Rum experience. This consisted of climbing on the back of a 4 WD pick up with no suspension, having a badly padded seat and a little canopy. The car was being driven by a nice young Bedouin who obviously knew the area without a map, by the …

This weekend was filled with souvenir gathering opportunities. Yesterday morning we went to the Friday market, which is like one big garage sale, and did a scavenger hunt to learn shopping terms and we learned how to bargain! That night we braved rainbow street which is know as the souvenir shop street and they were having their Friday night market …

We got to the dead sea, we are in the dead sea Hotel (that’s a novel name) it’s really nice and really big, lots of pools, kids areas, right on the beach, thee room is really impressive, 2 large beds, flat screen TV, pool view from the balcony, only problem is the weather has really gone down, its gray, cold, raining, the pools are freezing, there ...

... it’s all just gray concrete now (the pictures show how things are)

There is a huge flag flying above an old fort, this is in the colours of the Arab revolution, back in the 1900’s

Crossing the road has always been a life or death thing in any Arab country I have been to, not here, cars stop to let you cross and smile while doing it, incredible

Everyone speaks English and wants to practice it (on me so it seemed)

    One Week in Jordan

A travel blog entry by janehodson

My husband and I have both long been interested in visiting the Middle East. My sister and her family were thrilled with a tour they had done last year in Jordan, and considering that it is probably the safest and most stable country in the region, we took their recommendation and booked a week-long tour online with a travel agency based in Petra (www.wandertracetours.com). We got a good deal on a direct flight with the national carrier Royal Jordanian. The ...
