... museum ...well, not Al...but I only wanted to go to the shop...our guide last time and this time said don't miss it and they were right. Nothing we can't get in the states but it's a local tradition and the chocolates are DELICIOUS!! So...be nice...I have treats to share!!
We did the "pub crawl" - and that is using the term broadly - I guess they meant 13 senior citizens walking slowly through ...

          Andernach to Cologne

Beautiful morning as we left Andernach and cruised towards Cologne. The river traffic is noticeably heavier and bigger, with many more River Ships (barges), but the scenery along the river is beautiful.

We spent the morning in the lounge, reading, talking, relaxing. Of interest on the river were the remains of the Remagen Bridge which was destroyed by the Allies in WWII. The movie, The Bridge ...

It's front facade covers 750 sq metres and has 10,000 sq metres of lead light windows. It suffered 14 direct bomb hits during the war but was rebuilt. We declined the invitation the climb the 560 steps for what is reported as breathtaking views from the southern spire. I expect the climb up is more breathtaking than the ...

          Düsseldorf is strange

So the bus ride was super long and mostly uncomfortable. But we made it to Düsseldorf! We arrived around 7am, and walked to our hostel to leave our bags. We weren't allowed to check in until 1pm, so we had to kill some time. We found a bakery and had some tea and pastry, wandered around, played in a park a little, and then had real breakfast at a place recommended to us by the front desk guy at the hostel. Ordering ...

          The Ending

A travel blog entry by fruitarefriends on Oct 03, 2012

... decision. I remember how I hated waitressing at the Beach House Restaurant but I still stayed for a year and a half until I finally escaped. That was 3 years ago.

So basically I'm going to enjoy the rest of my time here with friends in the region, then
I'll pave a route to Uncle Adrian's in France. From there I'll probably head towards Spain/Portugal or Italy...

          Keep ya'll posted xx
