      Qingdao (pronounced "Zhing Dow") is a mixture of old of new. Old Qingdao is dirty and gritty. The new city is clean and shiny since it was built for the sailing events of the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing and it has many new skyscrapers. This is also an important Chinese Navy port - five submarines and various other ships were in port with us.

      ... with my Russian pals. It turns out if you're a woman or foreign here you'll never have to pay for a drink so I was quids in as I tick both of this boxes.       I've been eating a whole lot of fried rice, noodles and dumplings but today I actually ate some salad and I feel like a new woman, fresh food yay!
