I decided to drive by Dick and Diane’s one more time-they had not been home a couple of weeks ago-and as I pulled in they were just closing the garage door, so had a nice visit with them. I glanced around the table and tried to mentally count the number of marathons, ultras and other superhuman physical feats this group has under their collective belts. I stopped counting when I neared triple digits. I call them the "Dragon Slayers", my dearest friends, and they have gathered together to welcome one of their own back home...me. Kat, Cheryl, Cindy, Raille, Shelley, Diane, and Andrew...we are akin to brothers and ...

That was a Christmas to remember!

First, Christmas eve, here, "simple". We went to the "service" at the church (presbyterian I believe), the pastor read some texts (about Mary and Joseph and baby Jesus of course), and there was singing and music performed by a nice choir of young adults (16-20 years old I guess). Fred and Charlene's family were sitting in one of the front rows, gosh, I prefer to hide behind a pillar when I am in a church, but, well, I survived ;-)
