    ... came out and called him off, but as soon as I started riding again he snarled and chased me. I waited for the owner to grab his collar and get further away.     Time is getting close for our travels to Italy. We are excited; our adventures will include: Rome, Naples, Sorrento, Pompeii, Florence, Tuscany, Pisa, Venice, Milan and the Italian and Swiss Alps.


    Plane and train tickets have been purchased a well as tickets to several historical sights - Vatican, Academy of the Arts (David) and Uffizi Gallery.

    We stopped at the "American Gothic House" roadside attraction. It is the house that inspired the famous painting by Grant Wood in 1930. The actual house is rented out and the visitor center was closed so we didn't get a pitchfork in our picture. Darn it!     ... I enjoyed it. When the play was beinging I saw the sent it was kind of weird how they set it up with two long strips of blue ribbon and red ropes. Looking at it I did not know what to think it seemed like a little play park. But as the play began and I noticed that it was a boat scene and they were experience a storm setting.
