Holiday Inn Paris La Villette

For those of you who may be under the impression that I don't do much school work or for those of you who know and want to see I figured I should post something about my work. Also for those who are curious I passed my French midterm!! My grade wasn't that impressive but honestly its what I knew I was going to get. French is very hard and despite living here I really don't speak it much other than to order food and even them I'm hesitant with the pronunciation ...

The beetle would be great and if I can find one cheap enough from a person that can help me I just might do it. There are a lot of little problems that maybe make it not worth while. Such as, the only way I can legally own one is to get it on export plates (about 200 bucks), which need export plate insurance (about 300 bucks a month) and then I would need to find a ...

... tel. I am not sure how we are going to top this for her upcoming birthdays but I probably need to start thinking now.

Day 33)
We said goodbye to our awesome room and headed out for a day at the museums. After soaking up all the art and culture one can take we headed to the airport for our long flight to Hong Kong. Till then, safe travels to all!

... not everything is open but there were quite a few eateries right across from the museum. We wandered up and down the street looking at all the menus and finally settled on an Italian place. The only thing on their menu I wanted was a plain cheese and sauce pizza, and Steve had a pizza with all kind of meats on it. For 6,50€, I expected my pizza to be about 6"--what I got was more like a big 12" pizza. If we had known that, we would have just split ...

... dinner. The great washing saga part III - after dinner we decided we should probably wash our clothes as we were starting to run out of clean things and were beginning to recover from the horror of the Stratford washing disaster. We dragged all our clothes to a laundry mat a few streets away from our hotel and started our load of washing just before last wash. Before our load finished the owners came around and turned off all the dryers - so we were stuck with wet washing again!

... I had a lobster salad. Andy has made me eat oysters twice before (on the basis that you should always try everything twice) but I simply can't stand them though he loves them. 'Pour Plats' I couldn't resist having duck fois gras, on the basis that it is Paris, and therefore the best place to try it a second time also. Interestingly it was not anywhere near as melt-in-the-mouth fantastic as the previous night, but still ...

... buy property because these boats depreciate something crazy... but then to most of these guys money does not matter at all. Wednesday night is the yauchty's (or should we call them seamen??) boulle or petanque (again bowling with steel balls) competition night and we were allowed to join in the competition. We had an awesome time and turns out Wayne and I are pretty good at it as we were both in the final two teams that played the "grand final". We also pulled out our Viking game "Kubb" and ...

... in Nice, 2 days of crazy partying Barcelona, an overnight train to Paris, and spending the day walking around in the heat. Hmmm, I cant understand why I'd be so drained. We went to the top of the Eiffel Tower, saw the Arc de Triumph, and got caught riding the bus for free yesterday. Today I do nothing. Tomorrow, we go to Amsterdam. Only one week left until we board the crazy train across Russia, Mongolia and China. I actually look forward to doing nothing on a train. Ray
