I spent the holiday weekend in Minneapolis, at a very comfortable hotel downtown. The city was pretty quiet – the only thing going on in Minneapolis was the State Fair, and that was 10 minutes outside of town. It was quiet, but it wasn't dead – there were plenty of other folks like me stumbling around seeing the sites.

... of joy. I met up with her and another friend at Caribou Coffee. I walked up to her table and said, "Merry Christmas!" It took about 30 seconds for it to register who I was and what I was doing in MN. Lots of screams and big hugs followed that. I also got to see Mandi who had recently found out she was pregnant. Though there wasn't a baby bump just yet, it was exciting to see her too!
