With the heat, scorching breeze, moonscape surroundings and dark, abstract, cloned, super rich locals, this place feels like Mars.

First Camp Out!
Finally, a stay overnight in the desert. I was concerned it may be very uncomfortable sleeping because the day had been so hot, but it turned out to be a perfect evening. The sky was clear full of stars and there was a gentle warm, but not hot breeze.
My biggest ambition was to hike at dawn. I had no problem waking up early. Waking my camp buddies was more of a problem. We got under way soon ...
Camel Souk
After my first camp out, we stopped at the major camel souk (camel market) of Riyadh.
It's pretty rustic. A lot of crude pens, kind of cobbled together with streets (dirt roads) that meander throughout it.
We had come on a Friday, which is the slowest day of the week because it is like the Sundays in the west, so there wasn't much going on. I didn't take as many pictures as I should have, so I'll have to return for a more complete ...
