          Got up at 11 pm eastern time Walked to train station for 6 am train to Frankfurt airport On the right train :) on schedule which is normal for German trains Passing through center of Frankfurt before airport Uncle David was stationed here and found his name Main was the river that runs through the city.           ... it was just a mud area because they drain it before winter to take out the fish, and then they fill it up again and it freezes and people ice skate all winter. The next stop was where the Nuremberg trials were held. It has just been opened to the public again. This was fascinating because our guide was so knowledgable and my knowledge is just basic.           ... exactly as I had remembered.

          When we returned to the ship in the evening we were welcomed by a German band - enjoy the music.

          If anyone I know comes to Germany, I would highly recommend visiting Nuremberg.

          You will notice in the pictures that it was getting dark. The reasons are we changed our clocks back on Sat and the ship was delayed on arrival due to a traffic jam and wait at the last lock before ...

          ... the Nazi Rally Grounds where Hitler held many rallies. Very eerie; much of it is still intact, although some parts were demolished as a symbolic gesture
          Jim and Bill had a taste (0.5 litre!) of Dark German beer, Dunkle Weizen - very nice. A local told us there are 300 breweries around Nuremberg and Bamberg.
          After dinner we were entertained on board by an excellent singer who sang songs from most European countries - a nice change from Pieter the resident entertainer...
