... pay everywhere. Luckily Eddie talked the attendant into just paying for 3 spots instead of 5. We walked up to the main drag and chose Howard's based on their sign of being voted best burgers and steaks. It was the only food we've had the entire trip that wasn't great and it was way overpriced. Don't recommend it at all. It was sprinkling when we were done eating so we opted to go to the Hollywood Star Cars Museum. It was a good stop but for the same price I think the Wheels ...

... the maps). I have to say the amount of road signs leaving Hot Springs left something to be desired but got worse after we got to the TN part of our route. We headed out 25 to NC 208 and on to NC 212 which becomes TN 352 as you cross the state line. Good roads with some nice turns overall. The problem came when we were supposed to turn onto TN 23. Poorly marked and we got on what was according to my phone Old Asheville ...

Lots of Pictures- Get a feel for the road. I took I 77 west to the tunnel which crossed into West Virginia and took SR-598 to Bluefield where you see the first great vista. 598 hits 19 s to Tazweil where Rt. 16 starts, "The Back of the Dragon". Wow what a ride. I followed 16 to Rt. 58 at the Log Cabin Store in the pictures. Rt. 58 was a surprise because I was expecting rolling curves and country riding ...

... a bit and eventually loaded up and hit the road again. We were nearing the end of the loop and would soon be back on the main road.

On the return trip, we had to backtrack along the park road for about five miles before we got to Highway 73, which would take us on the loop road that avoids the town of Gatlinburg and about half of Pigeon Forge. We really didn’t want to deal with the traffic again and it also took us through places we had not ...

    Monday, April 13

Monday morning we got up, had our morning coffee and discussed where we would spend the day. We elected to head out to Cades Cove but had no idea how to get there except to head toward Gatlinburg. I couldn't find any addresses for the Visitors Center so we just headed on. We finally found a Visitors Center (by accident) and went in. They directed us toward Cades Cove where we went to ...
