    July 1st was our opening day under new management. We had a full house... Shannon did a great job building up the customers of the old Big Eddie's Cafe.     ... while talking to an alligator farmer and processor. I’m not sure a word of what he said was true but he was damn entertaining. I really only understood what he said at the end of every sentence. I should have recorded him speaking. It sounded like curly molasses. Whatever that might mean.


    Bayou Cane was as cajun country as it gets. Definitely worth the trip just tell the regulars that Ben and Kathryn sent you.

    But I had to wonder- did the Stonybrook/LSU game even make the NYTimes? Anyway, an interesting look at perspectives. It reminds me a bit of that classic New Yorker cover showing NY, and the rest of the world stretching in the back, obviously less important. Apparently everyone looks at their world from that perspective--—even in Houma, LA.
