Today started more successfully than yesterday... Ran to the top of Mont-Royal!! My bite didn't even suffer that much. Very rewarding view at the top. That's the 4th time I've been there now but it never gets boring. Came back and had a shower and now sitting downstairs with a coffee waiting for Mel to wake up so we can start our Poutine adventure! Well, what a day! Possibly the best so far in Canada... Done ...
... to charge me, or let it slide. No email so far (fingers remain crossed).
Then off we went and boarded the plane to Montreal, Canada. I left with a good impression when visiting this part of the world years ago whilst working in New York. Nice food, relaxing, cheaper than New York, many beautiful sights - both fixed and moving.
When stepping off the plane, I thought... bugger, I ...
... met as we had both had the same relocation assistant Marie-Claude. We decided to meet at the reception of our building at 6.30. From here we walked to the Bell Centre. I was hoping for a corporate box with all the trimmings, as Carl had been at the Bell Centre the night before watching the Ice Hockey in a corporate box where he had got to meet and hang out with Pat Cash! But alas no luck this time. We got some true match take out food, pizza and chips, ...
... course. But it's cheap for backpackers, too.)
3) There's a fairly well-established backpacker infrastructure. Some destinations just aren't worth the hassle of trying to travel backpacker style, since they are too set on catering to the cruise or resort crowds. Vietnam, from what I gather, doesn't have that problem.
4) It's in Southeast Asia. Having never done the typical Thailand backpacker trip, I feel like I've neglected Southeast Asia somewhat in travels ...
... view of the city of Montreal. The walk down was interesting, we strayed off path which ended in a descent worthy of a mountain goat. Should you visit Montreal and Parc Du Mont-Royal, we suggest sticking to one of the many paths that lead you down.
On our way back through to Down Town Montreal, we strolled through the streets finding our way to visit The Latin Quarter.
