        Effective in December 2013, the Chekika visitor's area was closed indefinitely due to cuts in Federal funding for the National Park Service. The boardwalk, nature trail, fountain, lake, picnic area and alligator hole are no longer accessible. However, the roads remain open for day use visits by anyone cleaver enough to find the unmarked paved roads which run along the many canals. ...
