Holiday Inn Marathon-Marina, Fl

We stayed for one night on our way back from key west and checked in at noon in a poolside room. Pool was clean and very comftorable, tiki bar served good cocktails, view was nice and the live music at 5 by the tiki bar was more than we expected. I must say that everyone staying there was having a good time either at the pool or the bar. Its not the Ritz but it isn't supposed to be. Go across the steet to the Island Restaurant and see a great sunset. Our time in marathon was good and we are glad we stopped and extended our vacation a day.

very pleased with our stay, we where there for two weeks,very clean, the staff where very helpfull.we used the place as a base to exlpore the keys because of it's excellent location.

We were very disappointed! We had planned on staying 3 nights, but checked out the next morning, (only because there was nothing else available). I will say the bed and pillows were comfortable and recently replaced. It was also recently redecorated. But the rest goes down hill from there. The most important thing for me is that the bathroom is clean. This was far from that! The toilet had not seen a brush in who knows how long and there were drips and stains on the seat. Thank god for clorox wipes. There were chunks of what I don't know on the floor, dust that looked like fur and large paint chips flaking of the door trim. Hopes for a good shower went down the drain too, water pressure, there was none. We checked in just after 4 and they were still cleaning rooms, one of the ladies was blocking the hallway, yapping away on her cell phone. My husband made the comment that she must clean with one hand. I am sad to say Holiday Inn has been removed from my trusted list of hotels. Good luck!!

Overall, this hotel is very good value for this price range.

The room and bathroom were very clean and the cleaning ladies did their daily jobs very good.

The hotel restaurant kitchen has decent prices for both brekafast and dinner which can be enjoyed at Tiki bar. There was live musician at Tiki bar every evening as well (Jan 2005)

Ofcourse this is not resort or 4* hotel, but for this price range it is very good value.

My husband and I stayed at this hotel while attending a wedding at another resort in November 2004. The hotel is clean and I would stay there again. The hotel has a continental breakfast which we did not eat since there was an IHOP only minutes away. It is on a marina and does not have walking access to a beach. If you are looking to spend time on the beach you would need to drive to it.

Holiday Inn needs to clean up it's act here. The place was a disappointment because the food service was not good, the grounds were filthy with cigarette butts and other trash, the room wasn't ready at checkin time and the beds had seen their better days back in the '80s!

I travel enough to know what to realistically expect out of a Holiday Inn, this place simply didn't live up to that expectation. We're going back to the Keys in two weeks and our money will be spent elsewhere.

The Tiki bar is nice, the pool is large, the marina is convenient and the room air conditioner worked. These were good things!

We (2 of us) stayed at the H.I. Marathon Marina, and loved it (04/2003)!! Very friendly staff, excellent on site activities, and best of all you are right in the middle of the Keys!! If you are a diver, the on site dive center is first class!! We will be back in July 2004.

We stayed here nov12-15 '03. We had 2 couples and we were put in rooms that were right next to eachother. this is a basic hotel room, we had a room with 2 double beds and we were facing the marina, I would say if were facing any other direction it wouldnt have been nearly as nice.

The rooms were clean and big, and it was very convenient that they have boat rentals and snorkeling trips right at the hotel. There is also a bar right next to the pool and they have the best pina colodas haha.

Some bad things: The breakfast that the hotel offered was awful, I had pancakes but they were more like cardboard, but there is an IHOP right down the road. You have to pay to make local calls from the room.

Theres no fridge or microwave in the rooms. We had a balcony but we couldnt go out on it because there was a huge puddle of water on it from the air conditioner. We had a problem with the room keys a number of times, for some reason they kept getting magically erased and we had to walk down to the front desk and reprograqm them everytime. theres 2 washers and 2 dryers but you have to pay 1.50 to use them and they are outside. The hotel was ok since we were only there for 3 nights, and we were having too much fun being in the keys to worry about stupid things, but i might check out another hotel next time I go.

We stayed at this Holiday Inn and were extremely disappointed. The room was the dirtiest I've ever stayed in.We had a number of things go wrong and people at the front desk didn't seem to care whether we were pleased or not. I would recommend finding other accomodations in Marrathon if you want your visit to be enjoyable.

Spent a brilliant week here over christmas 2002/03

Weather really warm 70 degs most days. This is the centre of the keys and as such is a wonderful base for exploring the rest of the keys from key west (easy drive) to key largo (easy drive). Lots to do and see warm shallow water is brilliant for young kids.

Hotel was clean, rooms were kept exeptionally clean by a dedicated team of cleaners.

Staff in the hotel I found were great but seriously over worked doing from early morning breakfast to late night meals.(maybe this was perculiar to the christmas /new year hol's)

Marina is eyesore which could do with updating boats/jet skies very shoddy

Food in the hotel is average.Lots of good local cheap food close bye try Porky's
