Headed off from Nasville this morning after piking out last night. We went to grab some dinner at an Applebee's Bar & Grill before heading to a bar with live music near the motel, After a steak and shrimp with mashed potatos and a couple of Mango flavoured cocktails, I was all done in and could barely waddle my way back to the motel. Only drinking water and eating fruit for the rest of the trip. I ...
Bardstown, Kentucky, United States mattcoll... frazzeled nerves but othewise safely.<br><br>Taylorsville State Park is lovely. The park is very quiet and peaceful. There is not much to do there other than walk trails but the park itself is very pretty. They have 30amp service and water but no sewers. The lots are nicely spaced and it was not crowded. The bathrooms were immaculate and the staff was very friendly and courteous.<br><br>We stayed until Tuesday and next stop is Bowling Green, KY.

Only thing on the agenda (other than my pesky job) for right now is a half day whale watching tour on ...
Louisville, Kentucky, United States amylintA short walk from the hotel lead us to the Louisville Convention Center and my first Kentucky Starbucks. I made it a mocha since it doubled as my breakfast. I asked the barista if they carried city mugs and he replied with a slight southern tang, "Nope. Small market."<br><br>Right.<br><br>
Louisville, Kentucky, United States lauren.warneckeWell, Louisville was supposed to be a brief stop over to prevent us from driving 10 consecutive hours, but let's be honest: Louisville is an awesome town. We got a super deal on Priceline and stayed at the four star Galt House Hotel and Suites in the downtown district. This is the fourth installment of the Galt House; the original was the residence of Dr. Galt in the early ...
Louisville, Kentucky, United States lauren.warnecke... creating my own agenda and itinerary is also making this trip have a more personal feel to it. Wow--3 weeks of travel and then a week off when i get back--that's not working for a whole month!! I think the last time that happened was the summer after graduating from high school back in 1998...seriously...I've worked a lot in the last 10 years...this is a much deserved break...48 hours from now we'll begin our journey!
Louisville, Kentucky, United States whoisjohngalt... snakey kind of river. We could catch glimpses of houses built on the sides of the mountains surrounding Charleston and some of them looked very plantation like with the big pillars in front. Those house must have a spectacular view!<br><br>At Charleston we decided to change our route and headed through Kentucky rather than Ohio. I love driving through Kentucky. It is such a beautiful state and our other choice was Ohio which tends to be so much ...
Clarksville, Indiana, United States gabbeecOh the wonders of nature and nature-stream restoration projects I volunteer on. Bernheim offers an abundance of programs for schools and families that educate and allow you to help conserve some nature! <br><br>Also, this park has many, many hiking trails. Yay hiking! Clermont, Kentucky, United States breezyfresh... all that appealing and after a couple of hours we left and consoled ourselves with some food! We headed back to John and Sarah's place, enjoyed a couple of pints at their local - Irish Rover and got an early night. On Wednesday morning after the mandatory cup of coffee we headed for brunch a Lynn's paradise Cafe as recommended by John. Well this place can only be described as something out of a Dr Suess book! It was truly wild! With ...
Louisville, Kentucky, United States traceourtracks... Black water. The blackest I'd ever seen and ever would seen until years later when I came face to face with some prime South Carolina black water river. Impossible to penetrate. The sunlight that reached it seemed to simply bounce right back off that cold, lifeless surface. Well, not lifeless, I suppose, because it was dotted with patches of algae and aquatic weeds, the kind that would sway in the waves if the water was moving at all, but threw was no wind. No ripple, no wave ...
