... to remember I still need to be able to fit on the plane to go home!!!<br><br>We stopped in at Bardstown along the highway to look at the civil war museum and the historic original Bardstown. They'd moved some old bulidings from around the area to the one spot and it was a bit like the Telegraph Station in Alice Springs where you could walk around looking into them and seeing how people used to live.
Bardstown, Kentucky, United States mattcollCouldn't sleep so off we went at 3:45AM- heading South. Set our New talking Garmin GPS system for Taylorsville State Park near Taylorsville, KY. The GPS chatters away telling you how far, where to turn and if you make a mistake her favorite word is "recalculating". I say 'she' because the Garmin uses a soothing female voice. I suppose Garmin does that so when their information is incorrect it helps keep one calm.<br><br>We nicknamed the GPS ...

Louisville, Kentucky, United States amylintA short walk from the hotel lead us to the Louisville Convention Center and my first Kentucky Starbucks. I made it a mocha since it doubled as my breakfast. I asked the barista if they carried city mugs and he replied with a slight southern tang, "Nope. Small market."<br><br>Right.<br><br>
Louisville, Kentucky, United States lauren.warnecke... s. He built an actual hotel in 1835 that was visited and praised by Charles Dickens, Jefferson Davis and 3 presidents. According to my informational magazine in the hotel (the one I'm reading in the photo...) army guys Sherman and Grant plotted a battle together in the hotel. That hotel burned to the ground and was replaced in 1869, only to be torn down in 1921. Al J ...
Louisville, Kentucky, United States lauren.warneckeWith two 8 hour days of work remaining before our trip I find it increasingly hard to focus and stay on task...there are still a couple of loose ends to tie up before leaving and I find myself obsessing about them while working. I've made most of my miscellaneous purchases. But I still have to put together our travel binder and figure out how to combine my clothes and personal items into one small carry-on piece of ...
Louisville, Kentucky, United States whoisjohngalt... Indiana and Illinois. We had a great day of driving with no major delays anywhere along our route. We managed to get in 13 hours of driving which put us in Clarksville, IN just across the Ohio River from Louisville. There are no photos with this entry because there really was no place to easily stop and take pictures particularly with the rain. I hope, however, that the description is enough to have you create your own pictures in your mind.<br>
Clarksville, Indiana, United States gabbeecOh the wonders of nature and nature-stream restoration projects I volunteer on. Bernheim offers an abundance of programs for schools and families that educate and allow you to help conserve some nature! <br><br>Also, this park has many, many hiking trails. Yay hiking! We all know how much I love that. :)<br>
Clermont, Kentucky, United States breezyfreshWith the economy I guess that Vegas is really feeling the crunch because they are practically begging people to come. Round trip flights on Southwest barely north of a hundred bucks (from KY) and hotel rooms for $28 bucks a night...yes $28 and that's throwing in 2 free passes to a show and a free lunch buffet. I guess they hope you will gamble away your money, I'm not big on the gambling but relish the chance ...
Louisville, Kentucky, United States chaz523... when the parents' backs were turned or just stealing into a house at night and plucking the wee ones from their cribs. Then they'd drive them out to the county line down near Butler, hike back to this very pond, and sacrifice the innocents to Satan by drowning them in the water, which I'm told was bright and clear and beautiful before it was choked with corpses. This went on for a while, years by some accounts. Then one night after they'd finished drowning a baby in the name of the ...
