Düsseldorf, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany marggraf... first. The kids here are now insisting that I will get the flu and I just might, but I don't think it's gonna kill me. 3 of the 5 members of the family who got the vaccine are now sick with fevers and coughs, doesn't sound like a good time to me.
Since I wasn't entirely impressed with the carnival I decided to wander around the altstadt and take some photos for everyone to see. I'm posting some other photos that I took a few days ago as ...

Düsseldorf, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany cariverga... background can maybe appreciate the literal translation of the word), and having new experiences. Tomorrow marks the beginning of Karnival in Cologne, so there should be some great goings on in the Altstadt (Old Town).
Next time I write, I'll try to catch you up on the day to day scoop of my life in Germany. Spoiler alert: Germans are never, never, never cold...
Love to everyone back home and I can't wait to see some of you over Christmas!
Jen
Cologne, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany jluetkehans... coming home? In July, but whether or not I'll stay is another story.

12.) Do you like it in Germany? Yes, I like it but that doesn't mean I'm going to stay here forever either.

13.) Is it cold there? The weather is basically just like it is in Oregon. It's rainy and once in awhile it snows in the winter, but only a couple of inches. In the summer it's not quite as hot, but that's not a bad thing for me.

14.) What do you miss about ...
Düsseldorf, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany torilusk... guidebook. We passed heaps of tiny little German towns with houses that have black roofs and old crumbling castles up on the hillside. The ride was so nice that we figured we didn't need to take a boat ride as we had already seen it. We got a bit lost again on the way to the hostel (these German towns don't have visible street names!) but found it eventually. We had pasta and sauce with tomoatoes for dinner and I (gasp!) finished my plate before Stephen and ...
Cologne, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany steveandwhitneySo...sorry I'm really really bad about updating this. It will probably only get less frequent as time goes on because I really have nothing new and exciting to report. I've basically fallen into routine here and most of the stuff that seemed interesting at first has become normal to me. I will say that this week has been pretty fun. Tanya took me shopping and bought me a new bag and a dress which was pretty freakin' awesome of ...

Düsseldorf, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany carivergaIt's been terribly long since I've last written anything, so I'm very sorry. I've found myself busy working on grad school applications, making travel plans, making dinner with my house mates and playing volleyball with my new team (a great new addition to my life I'll discuss more later.) Last Friday, however, my daily routine got shaken up as Fall Break began at my school. I have two weeks off for travel and fun! I've already completed the first half of my trip ...
Cologne, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany jluetkehans... was free, but of a high quality. It's quite new, like the new national museum in Canberra, it features many interactive elements and lots of electronic displays with video etc. This certainly added appeal and allowed Charles and myself to get much more out of it than we would've otherwise, as all the displays were only in German. We walked through Bonn a little as it became dark, deciding to have dinner whilst we waited for our train to arrive. The train back to D ...
