... rain on and off all day, and we had packed sandwiches, so we stopped in a picnic area and ate lunch in the car. I took a lot of pictures (are you surprised?!), but we're on the road now, and the signal may not be steady/strong enough to trust to the uploading process, so I will do that later.

We came back to the motorhome and had dinner after our day-long exploration, and decided to take advantage of a buy one/get one free ...
Smoky Mountains National Park, Tennessee, United States pykesonthego... Not Museums, Buffet Restaurants, Music Shows and Auditoriums, and more go-kart tracks than we've ever seen, in all our travels combined! It turns out that most of the schools in Tennessee are closed this week for Fall Break, so a lot of the tourists were families, here for the amusement parks more than the National Park. Neither of us enjoys this carnival-atmosphere, so prevalent now in towns like Branson, Wisconsin Dells and ...
Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, United States pykesonthego... I decide I want to watch that.

We try and head to Calhoun's for dinner, passing yet another car that has slid off the road, but it is mobbed. That is expected for the night before a game. I figure anything near the University will be packed so we eventually head over to the south side of the river. Of course that was after we drove through the revived old town area. I am glad to ...

The Street is lit up for miles with tons of miniature golf, go carts, shows and of course shops. We got in pretty late so we didn't stop to check any of that out. We're probably gonna do that today has well as make our way through The Great Smoky Mountains National Park.

Till next time, Peace out!

Jess and Nic
Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, United States nicandjessica... to the newly built forensic laboratory. I still cant get used to the metal detectors and bag screening process in every law enforcement facility over here in the USA (not to mention in museums etc too).

Fortunately we did not need to be screened and a very impressive tour of the facilities followed. We talked about the old facilities they used to work in and the challenges this brought them. No photograhs of the lab for obvious reasons Folks but needless to say, it was another ...
Oak Ridge, Tennessee, United States biggsey... a bear cause I was never gonna out run it. But alas, no bear to be seen. I didn't even get a squirrel that day, but I did later, as you will see.
My plan of going back to Gatlinburg after the hike drifted away as the pain in my feet screamed louder in my head than my desire to see another carved bear or jar of blackberry jam, so we headed back to the time share for the night. Tomorrow - the Biltmore.
Gatlinburg, Tennessee, United States bonnieb805... back on the road. Played singing games to while away the time.Got to Nashville around 5.30 pm. Very warm evening. Went into Nashville. Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, United States mumnjulie... 40 and the sunny breaks ended. Got into the motel and put the bike to bed while pondering what the weather channel had to say now. I hadn't planned to get this far north, now may have to think about cutting east to I-95. Should be able to do this even if there are some intermittent flurries tomorrow.
