Day 2 of 49 (Sep 8) found us still at Lake Conroe with absolutely nothing eventful to recount. We slept late, worked our puzzles, did a little shopping, grilled dinner and later Hannah took us for a walk. All in all, it was a quiet, relaxing day and the evening cooled off so sitting outside for a while was pleasant.

Curiously enough there was a Daq To Go shack right outside my hotel in New Orleans that I frequented while staying there.

I had a long awesome FaceTime date with the Loverly Lady Eryn, did a little blogging and went to sleep, dreaming of The Big Easy!

We spent the next couple days at the Briggs residence utilizing the skilled labor and wonderful selection of tools available to nail down our rig! We can't say thank you enough to Montel, Sue, and Matt for all the help and guidance they laid on us. Our last days in Louisiana were truly ...

... land for rice farming, raising cattle and in the early 1900's, the discovery of oil. This helped the town of Iowa to thrive during the depression. Today, cattle ranching, farming and the oil industry all continue to be a vital part of the towń. No matter where we travel, there is always a story. That's mine, and I'm sticking to it.

According to the map and our schedule, we're supposed to be in San Felipe, TX, just west of Houston. However, we hit a little road bump -- figuratively, not literally. Dan is in the hospital here in Lake Charles, LA so we're still here. He had several medical issues that needed immediate attention, hence the hospital stay. We were very fortunate in that there is a good hospital here and we were able to stay in the state park several more ...
