That afternoon we left Georgia and entered into Alabama. We also changed time zone again and entered into Central time. We found a very nice camp site near the swimming pool in a campground close to Ozark. The day was mostly spent resting with temperatures in the high 90s. The pool ...
... got up to get a closer view when the horned looking chum peeled out of a crack and darted under the hood of the stove. Here came Jessica out of the bedroom unbelieving what I witnessed. The Gecko peaked out from under the range so Jessica could be proven by his beady eyes. Both of us were mainly finished packing but we would need to bypass the lizard to get to the bathroom to get the rest of our stuff. We walked past numerous lizards outside ...
... she was out cold and I lay on the couch wide awake staring at the ceiling. There is a rumor when Jessica was a small child she accidentally swallowed the squeaky insides to one of her favorite stuffed animals. I found this to not be a rumor after all. Every ten minutes of deep breathing was followed by four seconds of squeaks. Part of me thought maybe I was dreaming but the more it happened the more puzzled I became. I stared intently looking ...

Very roomy, only 6 wide and all facing forward. Also tv monitor was 17 inch ant the food was amazing, we both had tenderloin of beef followed by Ben & Jerry's ice cream covered with strawberries and crushed nuts....yummy For a long flight the time seemed to pass quite quickly, when ...

Historical Traveler Reviews Holiday Inn Hotel & Suites Indian Rocks Beach/Clearwater
The hotel is no Ritz Carlton. However, if you are looking for a nice/clean place to stay. This is it. Try and get a room on the 2nd floor, as the foot traffic on the 1st floor prevents you from leaving the curtains open. The layout is such that the cheaper rooms face inwards into a mall like area (The floor is tiled and the carts do make for loud noises).
If you like your rooms hot with cockroaches...
We stayed over July 4th weekend. Great location, great kid friendly pool, great harborview ... however, A/C never got cooler than 79, the carpet made your feet black from walking on it, got not one, but three BIG roaches (one even traveled home with us!) in our room and I had some "party boys" in the next room keep me up till 6am with no assistance from front desk. I was comp'ed only one night after I complained re: the above upon checkout. Suggestion: get a room upstairs, bring bug spray and a fan.
I highly recommend this Holiday Inn. The reviews I read prior to going gave this hotel a bad rap. My husband and I stayed for 4 nights and loved our stay. We had the good fortune of being upgraded from an island room to an executive suite when our reserved room wasn't ready upon check-in. It had a large living room, dining area, full kitchen, and an upstairs with a king bed and large bathroom with jacuzzi tub and shower. Also a large balcony overlooking the marina. Housekeeping did a wonderful job of keeping the room clean. There are several restaurants within walking distance. Jimmy Guana's is onsite, and serves really good food. There are two pools, one designed for children and another for adults. The beach is a 1 block walk. I would go again!
The hotel is clean and well maintained. Unfortunately we did not have a room on the harbor side so there was no view and our room was quite dark. If I could do it over, I would call ahead and specify a harbor side room. The hotel is also very noisy...thin walls I guess. The family above us woke us up at 7am every morning with their stomping around and slamming doors. I also heard bad things about the Brewmaster although I personally didn't go there. I recommend Fathoms just down the street...the food/prices are excellent! The beach is convenient and the pool area is cute. Clearwater is about a 10 minute drive from the hotel and has carnival rides and lousy rock bands at night. Otherwise not much in the way of nightlife. This is a great place for a family and those of us on a budget. Couples should consider another part of Florida.

Hotel was very clean, rooms great size. Our misfortune was specifying a room not on first floor but given one anyways not facing water. Was noisy and like the interior of a mall. The cleaning carts roll outside your door in the early morning.
Best bet would be to call not use internet if you have specific requests.
I am sure if we had been on water side we would have enjoyed but no such luck.
Our family spent in week at this resort. My husband and I stayed in the king suite while my 3 sons (23-18 in age) had a queen suite. Our rooms were spacious and very clean. The people at the front desk were very helpful in any requests we had. The live music was fabulous. We enjoyed the balcony for sitting and watching the boats come and go. Our only complaint was that our room was on the very end next to the draw bridge and the traffic was a little noisy. Down were our sons room was, was very quiet. The pools were nothing special but we went there for the beach experience anyways. One worthy note: We went to eat at the Brewmasters Steakhouse which is at the resort. We had horrible food and service and when we asked for a discount for our troubles we were called liars and told we were to be charged full price. They aren't part of Holiday Inn and I won't hold it against this review, otherwise I highly recommend this hotel.
Great Suite, excellent stay
Stayed in January 2004, excellent location, easy walk to the beach. Had a harbour side suite, great views, huge rooms, well equipped kitchen, everything you might need. We will definately be back!
Nice and peaceful
Nice and peaceful- quiet place to stay. We faced the harbor side and it was fun to sit on the balcony and watch the boats go by. The pool was ok, nice restaurant and game room. 2 blocks from the beach (across the street). Very clean room, nice layout and kitchen area. Nice to be away from Clearwater- Indian rocks is a very nice place
We have been to this hotel twice this year. Once in April and again in July. We had a very spacious suite on the marina side. The staff was excellant and helpful. We enjoyed food, the pool, the bars, boating, and fishing without leaving the hotel. We will be back! It was very laid back and relaxing even with four kids in tow.
