... sigh. Finally headed in the right direction we drove through a series of heavy thunderstorms (see photo). I love that song and every face in the circle, so I was very happy, but I am so thick headed it didn't sink in that I was the reason for the gathering until Diane pointed out a beautiful banner that said "Ciao Rosie!". Then I instantly noticed every detail, the pot luck was Italian dishes, the decorations around the buffet table were pictures of Italy, red and white ...
... they offer a pick up service on base- something she somehow managed to forget when I booked the thing!! ... everywhere, which means I walk about 4 miles a day. So with the gym and the early starts added on top of rest I'm pretty tired by the evening and ready for a nice sit down, which I can now enjoy with a g&t from my $7 bottle of gin. Mum (and Claire if she's reading, and Laura too!) would definitely enjoy the tax free bottles of gin and wine on offer at the shop. It's not much more expensive than a big bottle of orange juice here!! I think it's best I head off to bed now ...
