Made it from Fairfield North Carolina to Ocala Florida. Pretty pooped but the hotel has a pool and we stretched out for a bit listening to the cars on the highway roar past. But, we're in shorts and in Florida. Ocala, in the central part of the state boasts the Ocala National Forest and from what we can see not too much else. Today was fairly quiet and was certainly not the best weather. This morning highs were in the 60s only and it was cloudy. We had some banking and signature things to take care of in the morning at Spanish Springs and Richard had golf at Redfish Run this afternoon. ... here, but we haven't seen any. we have seen lots of birds, herons, egrets, cormorants, annhingas, ospreys, bald eagles, (saw an osprey and eagle fighting), hawks, and pilliated woodpeckers.
millow got sick when we first got here, had a uti. we took her 30 miles away to Ocala to the vet for antibiotics and she is doing fine. phoebe got a tick here, even with frontline plus on her.

... that monkeys were not natural to the environment but that they came there because of the Tarzan Movies that were shot there. Apparently the monkey's didn't want to leave the set, they escaped and than reproduced.
But Silver Springs was a very welcome location as the set to many well known movies, including:

... We bought these at a new Country Club for me - Glenview - and we ate lunch there outside on the patio under an umbrella. The restaurant was packed and we did wait a long time but they kept refilling our lemonade and it was a pleasant break from shopping. I took a picture of a bench there decorated for St. Patrick's Day. There is lots of evidence of the celebration that is about to overtake us next week.
Tonight we can savour our filet steaks and Caesar salad on ...
