Day 8; Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Ohio
... mainstream. Or perhaps the mainstream is doing away with Amish Country. We saw three "hooligans" on mopeds, who Carol figured were teenage renegades. They didn't look too threatening :-)
A quick one minute detour into Michigan, (just to say we were in the state), and it was back on the road to Ohio. Beautiful scenery, nice sunset, more tolls, and smooth sailing for 100 miles. Tomorrow is Ryan's day - the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame!

When life gives you lemons....
... to the Wind Turbines on Route 6. We thought there would be a building to visit and that we would get close to the wind turbines, but they had a solar-powered computerized terminal to present the info. Unfortunately, the computer was not working... Since it was a five minute stop we decided to take the kids into Grand Rapids, Ohio. We went shopping in a couple of stores before stopping at Thurman's fruit stand on our way back to Bowling Green.

Day trippin' in Perrysburg
... loved it! After cooling off, we headed to Fort Meigs to see the fort used during the War of 1812. It is newer than the fort at Mackinac Island. Not as well staffed, but did have a chance to speak with a guide/docent dressed in period costume who was very informative.
