    ... the West. Unfortunately we are still waiting to get our certificate, so we do not know if we will be able to do much working on this trip. Will let you know as we travel.
    We have God, food, home and puppies, who could ask for more! We will miss everyone, but this is on Randy's bucket-list so we are on the road again!

    Three days drive to New Orleans. Slept last night in Naples, then drove past Venice! Dry and sunny.

    Endless driving on open 2 or 3 lane motor ways, through green country. This Interstate was one of the network of roads started by Eisenhower in the the mid-50s and completed 35 years later . Regular stops for a hundred varieties of fast food, fuel and lodging. Only time we got held up ...

    ... AB tunes. Earth Wind and Fire (remember?), 30 years on, played all their famous hits and spookily looked and sounded just they they always did. Lots of southern rock was enjoyed, sometimes through the night.

    ... River joins the Suwannee on its way to the Gulf of Mexico. Along the river are long mounds of earthworks which were built during the Civil War to guard against incursions by Union Navy gunboats. Also, one of the states oldest cemetery can be found within the park as well as a paddle wheel shaft from a 19th century steamboat. The views from the park make camping here so enjoyable.
