... afriendlier person when I visit the US. Plus, as much as Hong Kong ishailed as a shopper’s paradise, nothing beats the US. Outlet malls and discountvenues such as DSW are a cornerstone of a budget shopper’s existence and theycater to all sizes there, which as a big-boned girl (I’ve always been fond of this expression) I greatly value. There’s nothing quite as torturing as shopping as a size 8-10 in Asia. Perhaps in the US I am regarded as average ...
Lake Charles, Louisiana, United States bgoode98It's an enchanted forest, steam rising from the ground that sits too low. If I stopped the car and got out, I would either sink or float away and it would be the same thing. Everything is just flat and green, life swarming out of the ground. Trees line the horizon, dark, half submerged in swampy water.Mercifully, the sun has not yet taken its place in the sky. Layers of ...
Iowa, Louisiana, United States fossilfuelfreeQuick entry, then back to the Casino for a little early morning action. Twenty-five bucks and I get a RV hookup site and all the fantastic amenities of this fine resort. What a deal. Gotta be on the road by noon - New Orleans, here I come!
Lake Charles, Louisiana, United States winegalcjI was suppose to stay at another adventure riders house for a night but he said he would give me free lessons if I wanted them. To top it off he let me stay at his place for free. Darrell and his wife are some of the nicest people. It sometimes shocks me how kind people are. If anyone is down in Louisiana and need scuba stuff, you ...
Lake Charles, Louisiana, United States macrosse1... normally it is easy to spot many more alligators and other animals such as bobcats and racoons, but that the weather has been so dry this year, the habitats and activity patterns of many species have been altered and made them more difficult to find. I was definitely satisfied with the experience and would highly recommend the park. This was a perfect time of year to see it too - pleasantly warm as opposed to the sweltering heat of mid summer.
Aransas National Wildlife Refuge, Texas, United States moinmotionI'll pay my library fines and then off to Ragley to leave the Mercedes with Dad for the next three months (at least). He will take me to Intercontiental Airport Houston very early in the AM New Years Eve for a connection in San Francisco before crossing the Pacific to Seoul and finally Phnom Penh late New Year's Day.
Lake Charles, Louisiana, United States blade.grass... to write when you complain to them....just to show they are listening... It is a typical and sad state of the industry - this type of poor customer service, poor attitude and top-down administration which does not give employees the power to make decisions or resolve problems (the internet is out of their control). She told me that I chouldnt get the room for free because I should have been told there was no internet when I checked ...
sulphur, Louisiana, United States courtrand... under it, tying onto the sides for about an hour before the skies cleared. I was finally able to get internet on my computer and we had a great radar view of the stuff that was producing "hail, 50 MPH gusts of winds, etc". We ducked out just in front of the double wide barge we had passed about an hour before, so we wouldn't have to pass him again. Passing those darned barges is a real trip. They ...
Lake Charles, Louisiana, United States lgrubbs... goes well! I've included some pictures from New Orleans on Halloween! Enjoy! Erica P.S. We saw the actor Scott Caan in the French Quarter yesterday. It was kinda weird. He was the more athletic Morman brother in Oceans 11, 12, and 13. He was also in Varsity Blues. He was just out sight seeing on a bike and taking pictures.
Orange, Texas, United States ericalee... all older (think 50's-60's houses) and there are some areas that never recovered from the two hurricanes that passed by in 2005. For the most part this city shuts down after 9-10 pm...and I mean shuts down. I think everyone must go to bed by at least 9. There are three super wal marts in the area but none stay open after 10. apparently there are not enough people willing to work after hours shift to stay open 24/7. There are some other places I have yet ...
