The Civil War history of the area had to be covered so over a few trips we checked out The Battle For Chickamauga which is a giant diorama combined with audio visual that depicts the battle of the area. It was quite impressive and gave a good orderly account of the battles. Its amazing how they had months of preparation, then the fight would be fought and done in 48hrs. We also visited the Chickamauga & Chattanooga National Park ...
We have arrived in Chattanooga and found ourselves a bargain basement priced little wooden cabin to keep us out of the rain and in the warmth, yay! This is just a short entry. This week we will be staying here in Chattanooga checking out the surrounds and making a few day trips to neighbouring states.
We will keep you updated. Lots of Love, the warm, Bek and Jesse Train
... I did see that they had a 1903 Springfield. I’ll have to remember to tell Shaun.
We decide it is a good time to hit the auto tour before the bus load of children head there. We head out and follow the battle. I like trying to guess which monuments are for which state. The hike took some time so when we got back on 136 North and headed on to Chickamauga we didn't stay too long. We will definitely will go back.

I REMEMBER IN THE SUMMER NIGHTS, MY SISTER AND I WOULD LAY OUT ON A BLANKET AND WE WOULD WATCH THE TRAIN GO BY. PARTICULAR TRAINS WOULD HAVE DINNER CARS. THE CARS WOULD HAVE THE ...

Of course, a guided tour through the museum is an educational adventure too. If the show at the Trade Center whets your appetite for learning more about what you've seen (or bought), spend some time at 201 High Street browsing the permanent collection that began with Anna Safely Houston. One of the most interesting things to ...
Chattanooga, Tennessee, United States burtonllGo with me? The redbuds and the kite-eating trees are in full bloom at Tennessee Riverpark this weekend. And the Scenic City Kite Club promises to bring us into spring with a dazzle. It's the annual Kite Fly in the meadow, and you can take your own or make'em there. Workshops begin at 10 a.m., and the kite prices begin at $1. "We want every kid or kid-at-heart to have a ...

Beginning on the new Corridor J in Chattanooga, travel north, crossing the waters of Soddy Creek and hugging the eastern side of the Ridge and the western side of the Tennessee River on a wonderful 4-lane cruise to Dayton. There the road narrows for the next 17 miles till you arrive at Spring City. Here clear signage directs you onto ...
